Ok so I'm rebuilding a clients PC and he needs to get his copy of Office back on. I've managed to use one of those product key scanners to get the CD-KEY for his office 2003 installation but he's lost the CD.

I can't find anywhere on the MS site to order a replacement and I'm having trouble finding a standard .iso from... alternative sites.

Any suggestions appreciated, the guy is resigned to spending ~300 quid for a new copy of 2007 but I'm pretty sure he'd think I was Captain Awesome if I managed to get office working sans CD.

Update: I found a copy of an office 2003 standard trial that I think would happily activate to full with the key, tried it on my machine and the key half works. It appears to be an office 2003 upgrade key. I've also got the Office XP Pro code, so now it seems I'll need a Office XP Pro trial too but I can't find that anywhere :\.

Any help still appreciated :).

You can't find an Office 2003 cd on warez sites??? :D
As long as you have a valid key Microsoft doesn't really care where the cd comes from...

Can PM you some decent links if you want :)

Like I said, I found an Office 2003 trial that I think would do the job fine, the problem is it turns out the key I have is only an upgrade key, so it needs a previous office installed first. I have an Office XP key too but now I need to get that installed first. I've managed to get a squiffy Office XP iso but it's rejecting the key :\.

It's for a client. I don't do piracy with my clients - would certainly make things a fuckload easier if I did.

Anyway, as it turns out I managed to install Office XP from the squiffy one without a CD Key - it rejected the one I used but installed with a blank one. I think it was installing as a trial. That satisfied the requirements of the Office 2003 trial and I used the legit key to get that fully installed. Got online and activated, all working 100%. Huzzah!

Good stance, another good one would be to tell them that if they've not got the CDs/DVDs it's their ball ache :p

Well initially I said "sorry, looks like you'll need to buy a new copy" and he had accepted that he was going to be an extra £350 out of pocket. The fact that I found a way around it legitimately means he thinks I'm super-dope-awesome and will recommend me to lots of people. So as I said - huzzah!

Ah, my bad Nath. Deffo a bad idea to use Blue Edition then. Glad you got it sorted.
