I could never get on with the few episodes of the Wire I watched.

I hate to sound like the typical wire fanboy but you really need to give it like half a series to kick in.

The wire actually broke television for me. Nothing else will ever be as good. Maybe it's better you don't watch it/

I enjoyed the first few episodes of The Wire, but it didn't become awesome until the team first caught a glimpse of Avon Barksdale. That scene is fantastic.
