So i fancy a reet good war film tonight when i get home.

Something i won't have seen...

I've seen platoon, saving private ryan and all the usual ones.

Any suggestions?

also, need time frame, subject, etc. "war film" is too large a category :p

i like all hte old ones .. where eagles dare and stuff like that..kellys heroes is always entertaining.

Thin red line was pants i think ..

we were soldiers was ok ..

I liked the hurt locker too :) and black hawk down is awesome .. jar heads wasnt that bad .. guess you seen them all tho hehe

Gettysburg is one of my all time favourites, but its not everyone period of choice.
ww1- all quiet on western front
ww2- bridge too far. Stalingrad (in german). Cross of Iron. Das Boot.

sure ill think of more if u give me time :p

Hamburger Hill is a good one that's often overlooked.

Jarhead is great as well, offers a very different perspective to the generic stuff. Hurt Locker's pretty good if you haven't got round to that yet either.

Das Boot is awesome, imo it's one of those film/book tossups rather than the book always winning.

Oh yeah, Rambo 1 is actually a good film if you havn't seen it :p But I'm guessing you have.
