It only took them this long to do it mind, and it uses flash over java, but is still a hella improvement over the old site imo.

Still won't use it much though, having gotten used to not bothering with it any more, heh.

You could still use it by viewing the text only version :/

But hooray for them updating it.

Uhh what. Not that I care particularly, as I have never and probably will never use it, but clicking anything on that intro page gets me a 404.

What.

Well uh, this happens apparently regardless of the browser I use - besides the fact that I don't see how anything on my end could cause a 404. How am I getting 404s at all? I am confused.

Okay, this is confusing. Yeah, that link works fine, but now I can't access the previous non-working bit. (Do Firefox and IE share user settings someplace? As given it looks like it's now set www.odeon.co.uk to be this non-flash version, for both browsers, I can only imagine that it's a shared cookie or something. But I had assumed they were separate.)

My version of flash isn't particularly old so I'm still not real sure what was going wrong on the first version. I don't know what it was supposed to be like, but for me there wasn't any flash on the initial entry page, and the links sent me to places like here which just give me 404s.

I guess they must have changed the site again now, with or without Javascript enabled for it I just get a rather normal website, using dropboxes, and go buttons that "Just Works[tm]".

Yes, I'm aghast that they managed to get this much clue, but bravo!

Edit: Ah, ok, if you go to book a ticket it seems to be a Flash thing, but it still appears to work in Firefox on Linux

Odeon are a rip off cinema.. if you have a Cineworld Cinema near you go there.. pay £10 a month to be an Unlimited Customer see any film you want any time you can see as many films a day as you want also.

Me and my GF have probably saved a few hundered quid since we joined these.

Also Unlimited Customers don't have to que.. see that big que for a big film? wave at all the people standing there as you walk to the front and have a ticket while they look on as though they want to kill you.

Yesterday Dead Mans chest que was HUGE we just walked to the front and got our tickets.

Also in Odeon you have Luxuary and Standard.. in Cineworld all the seats are very comfortable and you pay even less if your a standard member!

In short.. Odeon sucks balls.

Aada, not all odeons up and down the country are the same. I only have warner (vue) and odeon cinemas near me, they charge about the same and both are just as comfortable. Screen number 1 in Streatham Odeon is however HUGE, so I prefer to go there. Oh and no luxury or standard seating here.

Cineworld used to be UGC right? Wonderful cinemas, I particularly liked the Hammersmith one, where you shared your viewing experience with the rats walking in front of the screen...:eek6:

I think I'll stick with my nearest Vue thanks...

Yep.. they are extremely hard on people who make noise in a film.. they have 2 big hefty security guards there too ready to chuck people out.

I've been in a few films (MI3) where people were talking about what seat they were all going to sit in.. even though they were already sat down.

I went and told the staff and the security guards came in and asked them to leave.. they don't get a refund either.

Theres actually a huge sign on every door warning people about making noise/using mobile phone when the film starts.

I mean comon guys £10 a month and see any film any time, you can even see multiple films! we have seen 2-3 once, fucking bargin tbh.

I've never seen a cinema with this offer and ive been to a few, if your like me and go to see alot of films you know damn well after a while it mounts up.

And I'll stick with a cinema that isn't a public health hazard.

I have very little choice, the only cinema in my town (or in fact nearby me) is Odeon (Blackpool). Other than that we have to travel a fair way since the ABC closed, i did like that place, why did it have to close to make way for the shit of a club that is Syndicate :(

Bloody hell children.

I frequent the Vue, the odeon and the UGC in birmingham. They are all much the same. Too expensive. There is actually little to distinguish them. Other than the Vue are a quid more expensive per film.

Welcome to another pointless "the place I go to is better than the place you go to" thread. Who do you think you are sticking up for here? Whatever way you look at it you are both getting bum tubbed. Especially when you pay 3 clams for a coke that costs about 10p to squirt out.

Seriously, why would I make that up? I don't give a shit about one cinema chain or another, but I did see rats in the UGC Hammersmith. Twice. And I have witnesses who were with me. I haven't been back since because I don't fancy sharing my popcorn with rodents. Its actually my nearest cinema but I genuinely wouldn't go in there when there's a clean alternative five minutes further away. I've no idea why you're so protective of a cinema chain. Do you work for them or something?

Aada are you going to stop forcing your fucking views down our throats now? Have you not realised yet that no one gives a shit what you think?
