I had a few power cuts today and now I can't get Synergy working. I have it set up to run as a service on the 2 computers that are next to each other but now they just cannot see each other. Both the computer names are the same as before, the config file is the same, I can see all folder shares (3 computers' worth) on the network, the shared internet connection is working as well as it ever has and I can ping til my heart's content but Synergy just will not connect. :(

Ideas?

Turn one machine off for a while. I'd imagine windows is doing that "I'm the master" "No, I'm the master" bullshit it sometimes does on a home network.

Thanks G. A random barrage of restarts, Synergy reinstalls, Synergy service starting/stopping, meaningful stares and colourful language saw me through in the end. Also the firewall had inexplicably decided to switch itself to automatic filtering mode. :\

Just on home networks?

The number of times I've worked somewhere and you look at the DC to see #random pc thinks it is the master browser - election being forced# is quite comical. Don't people turn that shizzle off on their clients via GP? (obviously not and I shouldn't complain as it's stuff like this that keeps me in contracts).

On input director you can specify the master and slave from pc name, but if you are issued a new ip, it won't connect. I noticed it when I took one machine to a friends and connected to their router. when I came home it issued a different ip.
