so I just installed my new ram but one of my fans seem to be trying to compete with an airport.

Any ideas?

Make sure the heatsink/fan is seated properly and plugged in correctly - smartfan will keep a fan at max if a component isn't being cooled properly. Also, go into your bios and make sure smartfan is actually turned on.

Went into my device manager>system and found that

"Intel Management Engine Interface" isnt working for some reason.
I did check the bios and that was fine, I'm guessing its this engine malfunction malarky.
Temp looks fine in bios after a reboot ~45/35 for cpu/mobo and gpu is ~50-60

You can try and download SpeedFan and adjust the speed by yourself. But first jam your finger in to the fans and find out first which one makes the airport sound! :)

I'd recommend replacing your fans with Noctua one's, I did recently and I don't regret it. They cool very well but are nearly silent.
