although I am not a Leeds fans, I have several mates that are, they think this is a shocking decision to sack him. In their opinion O'Leary had been Leeds' best manager in recent history. He turned them from a mediocre mid-table team to a top 4 or 5 team in the few seasons that he was in charge, not many managers can claim to have done that (the great Gérard Houllier springs to mind).

I guess this means the door is open for people like Rio Ferdinand, Harry Kewell, Robbie Keane and Mark Viduka to leave.

damn bloody shame. arsenal are always a decent side to play and they really have been performing better. Shows how the world is run by money grabbing bunters. Hope he wont dissapear off the scene forever :(

Aye, i was quite shocked to hear of this also, he is one of the best England Managers around, and Leeds are totally stupid in sacking him.
Although i did hear O'Leary left on his own accord, not getting sacked.

I think next in line for the Leeds job will be Guus Hiddink (He said he wanted to go to an English Club when his contract at Korea ended) or that Scholari fella from Brazil.

Well, i read it on Teletext this mornin, and because it was pretty early news, not many people knew what really happened, i believe it said he left on his own accord because he refused to sell ferdinand, but, now it seems clearer.

So how are things in Dubai?

ps. He was the Leeds manager, he played for Arsenal many years ago.

I don't see what the big deal is. Leeds are perennial underperformers, the beginning of every season they make out like they're mounting a decent bid for the League, and by the end of it they're fighting for a place in Europe, at best.

Added to which, O'Leary *never* takes responsibility for his team's failure. All the other top flight managers (Fergie, Houllier, Wenger, also Sven) just accept it when their team plays bad - their post match interview is usually along the lines of "they played better than us" or "we didn't perform". O'Leary always blames something else - the weather, the ref, the schedule, the fucking drive up on the coach. He's a whinger who can't deliver.
