Number Plates...

Personalised plates (ie ones that are supposed to say your name or a "funny" word) always seem a bit lamut to me. They're a bit like voice-dialling on your mobile - a good idea at the time, but embarrassing when it comes to actually showing them off in public. Count the number of times you've seen a personal plate and actually laughed/been impressed. Now count the number of times you've seen one and thought "how shit". I bet the ratio is about 1:1000.

It's even worse when people move around the letters, put black dots on or even physically change the letters, all in a crap attempt to make their £250 DVLA special look interesting.

When I was in America I saw the personalised number plate W4NK3R which made me laugh uncontrollably, but nobody else seemed to get. But the car had a brit flag by the side of the plate, so that guy _had_ to know. Good on him :)

Of course the police now have the power to take away the registration if it is illegally spaced on the plate, and/or uses strategically placed black dots, and replace it with a lame Q registration.

Also sorry to be pedantic, but a bunch of the registrations on this forum can't happen 'cos they don't fit the rules :(

Oh, man. If I saw that whilst driving, I would be prepared to sacrifice my own car in order to ram the owner of said number plate off the road.
