Hi

I keep getting disconnected from NTL broadband and then have reset the ip using the little toolbar thingy. Only started happening in the last couple of days.

It doesnt really matter when you're browsing but obviously a nightmare when playing games

Anyone else had this prob?

Windows 2000

thanks in advance

not had the problem and also not got the the little toolbar for resetting ip.

My advice would be remove any software ntl sent you on cd to run there cable service cos you do not need it.

All you need is your pid number which is on your welcome letter and your password which you will have most likely set up already when you called to get broadband.
start your browser it take you to a web page with a big grey start button on it give it the name of your pc can be anything you like fill in any other stuff it asks for and then wait till it says your done and you then have to restart your pc and your set top box.
unplug settop for 30 seconds then reconnect it.
I never got a welcome pack as I was one of the first to trail the service but the system is the same now as it was then.

Thx m8, ive had no probs installing it and secondly it was fine again last night (apart from dying a lot at cs - but i cant blame ntl for that)

The "connect" prog - jump or summat its called seems quite handy for releasing ip and certainly helped when i kept gettin disconnected - can only find ipconfig in dos in xp which as abugger.
