well number 1 rule for most sbs is 50 base weapon it makes that much of a big difference why not try this template

50 pierce+18
44 cs+18
32 stealth+18
19 envenom+18
17 cd+18

that is the spec im doing next patch ok im higher rr then you but maybe it could be something to aim for? theres a sb in mid who has that spec and he think its pretty good

well i like fast wepons better then slow,
most fun is to kill infs with viper 1 hit change wepon dont hit until u evade

(bad if they eved on u first hit doh, or purge, but fun)

My NS is a newbie still, but I've been looking into it and am considering playing him a lot more.

I worked out that from the spec I have in mind, at RR7 (I can dream, can't I? ) that with the CD I have there'll be a 54% chance to hit with my offhand - now, is that a reasonable amount? or is it reccomended that I have a lot more than that? :/

btw, I also heard that your offhand never benefits from style bonuses - how does this effect a NS exactly? If you're swinging with your offhand more often, is there a greater chance your offhand will 'catch' a style and do diddly-squat damage?

My spec is 35+15pierc 44+15CS 27+15CD
The spec work very well, BUT against peps speced 50parry or 50shield you will notice a little more block/parryes than they get against higher ws.(i think) Still peps claim the spec make the ns but is damn far from true. the pep behind is what matters.
can say that ALL specs that giv you a modded wpn spec at 50 is going to work very good.

Those with 39 spec in pierce, how are you finding it?

With the weaponskill that offers, how often are you evaded/blocked/parryed? or miss?

I'm thinking of dropping pierce for an extension of a style line in CS, but would that be a good idea? What I mean is, what would be the chances of me pulling off a full line of styles with the WS from 39 pierce?

Can't give statistics or anything, but speaking purely from my own experiences, with a base spec of 37 pierce, I dont have any problem with blocks/evades/parrys and not noticed problems completing pierce or CS style combos. I always try to interrupt with insta dd if evaded, but often find I dont get evaded, while evading them about twice in the fight. The PA chain almost always lands. Sometimes I miss the 3rd move (44 cs) of the evade chain and may spec out of this in 1.62 to go 39 cs and put some more in CD.

I always back my styles up, so no loss in damage for me Forcing people to eat Dual Shadows is also nice, either they take it or don't hit me at all, which opens up other positionals for less endo usage

Retired inf pretty much anyhow, stealthzerg everywhere and no patience for it.

i backstabbed2 em for 380 .. with 16.2 99%qual 4.1 speed ... i was full buffed .. is it normal dmg .. i m 48 now .. but expected bit more damage form hidden styles.

my specc is 34cs/ctelth, 29env/cd, 48 blades.

Do it get better when i get my full wepon usage on lvl 50 ? i mean 16.2dps and not 15,2 as now ? or i have to liv e with this dmg ?

Pretty much, Epic armors and SC have done horrible things to assassins initiating styles

My reason for asking, though, was that I was considering taking CS to 50 and pierce to 39 - I was wondering if 39 pierce hits regularly enough to pull off the full CS chain. Since there'd be no point in getting the last style if you never hit successfully enough to use it

atm I'm aiming for a more safer spec at 44/44

Its aimed at a RR6, which imo is a good target for most NS to aim for. Though as always with the NS class patience is needed.

I have been thinking for a long time of going 50 cs, probably something like this :

31 Stealth.
39 Pierce.
50 Crit.
32 Venom.
18 CD.

Ive tryed out every spec ( except 50 Crit ) through Gorre ( bring back Gorre! ) and Respecs, and Crit in comparison to Pierce gets much value per point when using Crit styles, which is all but 1 style shades use.( aslong as you have a decent total pierce aswell as high crit )

50 Pierce - terrible.
50 crit - not tryed.
really high CD - good but not viable when you consider how many points we get. i have 25+18 CD + DR2 at the moment and that is more than enough imo.

44/44 is a nice spec i had that for quite a while just leaves CD a bit lacking.

the differance i noticed between 44 pierce/39 crit to 39 pierce/44 crit was huge, my damage went up by miles, maybe technically i would get blocked/evaded a little more but i for one never noticed it one bit, in fact it seemed i got blocked etc.. less.

My spec atm if i can remember rightly is :

[50]33 Stealth.
[58]40 pierce.
[62]44 crit.
[42]25 cd.
[50]33 venom.

Havent played in the last few weeks and need a Respec stone to optimize my spec but its worked fine for me so far.

If your reason for thinking about going 50 Crit is for the last style.. then dont, the style isnt very good and you wont get it off much in RvR, only reason i would like 50 crit is purely for the damage.

I like the dmg output but really need to fine tune my stealth/env down a little either that or keep making a new sc suit every time i ding a RR

Ofc I'd like the extra damage, but if I were to take it as high as 50 I'd like to be able to use the style too. You say that I wouldn't be able to use it much - which is the part that worries me.

Why do you think the style isn't very good? From the statistics it would seem like one of the more damaging styles in Hibernia...

Its the 4th style in a chain, RvR usally consists of quick kills, usally the target is dead or one of the first 3 styles is blocked/parryed/evaded/target not in view etc.. etc..

As for the damage the style as reported isnt working correctly, lots of info about it on vn boards.

Yep, current suspicions are pointing Ripper damage as being based off Weap-spec, not CS-spec, which is even worse for NS/SB than Inf. Not that the style is any good really, only classes you can expect to pull it off are tanks...
