as long as they are spread out it ok, but if they all go to the south coast in the summer, it will overbalance the country, and tip everything into the channel :(

on the plus side, it might squash most of france when it goes :england:

Quite right, but there are far more fatties now than 50 years ago, so there must be social reasons for it. It's very easy to be lazy these days, you can quite easily go about your day now without walking more than half a mile, and you can feed yourself for years without ever using a chopping board.

And it doesnt matter anyway. The government is relying on people all dying at 40 of heart attacks to save on its pensions bill. Fatties are good for everyone. More girls for the slim guys and more money for them when they get old.

Government will probably end up taxing people based on their weight

Perhaps, but do you have any idea how much all the NHS drugs and treatments, bypass surgeries, valve replacements, etc. are going to cost the government and the taxpayer?

Given, its cheaper if everyone dies.. but no one dies without footing a pretty darn big bill first.

True, the aging population is a ticking time bomb for pensions and treatments, but if suddenly you have large numbers of the younger, working, taxpaying population unable to work and requiring expensive treatments too, then it isn't so good.

Better to delay their problems until they get old too - then its just the one problem that needs fixing :x

I withdraw all previous statements. You can't argue with that. :sex:

Im going to sound really harsh here, but isnt natural selection being all about the fittest surviving?

Peopel with things like heart disease and stuff who live and going to pass the dodgy genes down to the next generations etcetc, its something to think about

Its important to realise that people putting on weight like they do is thought to be a result of natural selection.

In the past there'd be times of plenty followed by starvation, etc. so selection favoured those able to put on weight effectively.

Now there's just plenty, coupled with a significantly lesser amount of physical activity involved in every day life --> obesity.

Natural selection operated over 1000s of years and natural selection doesn't operate so strongly these days anyway - unless you want to bring in euthanasia of the young, elderly and disabled, withhold treatment, surgery, antibiotics, vaccines, etc.. :touch:

So it's not a problem that's going to go away easily - it needs lifestyle changes to manage it.

Its a social problem. Stop the producers of ready meals, and places like mcdonalds and itd be a lot better for everyone.

That would be most of us then. Bear in mind that most people who currently get cancer or heart disease probably wouldn't have lived long enough to show symptoms if they'd been around a few centuries back; they'd have been dead by 40 from smallpox, or typhoid, or warfare.

Natural selection stopped applying to humans quite a while ago; certainly in the West.

Makes sense really!

Fat people = More food = More gas = More farts = More bad shit = Less ozone = Global warming.

How didn't we see this sooner.

Aye, they're all diseases of aging that natural selection has never applied to and probably never will - they all hit past the reproductive age, which is all that counts.

Obesity accelerates the problems, especially of the heart - but they inevitably hit after peak reproductive age.

so your saying its NOT the consumers fault for being an idiot and NOT realising a big mac meal everyday really isnt gonna do you any good?

it should be down to the individual to not be a fat lazy piece of shit, not down to corporations or the government.

they easily can. i used to be a 46" waist, possibly bigger. 1 seat was painful with the arm rest down!

Well...

They don't sell you alcohol if you're wasted.

Why don't they put a scale in MacD? :flame:

"250lbs?! Get the f*ck out of here!"

But they will server you till you are wasted everytime you do to a pub! Even if you went in there everyday!

Or you could go into Sainsbury's and buy 50 litres of Vodka...they won't stop you unless of course you are under age.

Most people are idiots...the sooner they eat themselves to death the better it will be for the "clever" population to thrive.
