Can people from nordic countries help me please?!
In the english legal system, we have witnesses, and then expert witnesses, such as a doctor who is an expert in his field and can give a viewpoint on what say, a patients chances of recovery are.
Is part of their classification as witnesses, they are granted immunity from suit - ie, they can't be sued (for example by the person they say caused the harm) for things such as defamation, slander.
This does not extend to disciplinary action by the experts professional body, ie, for Doctors, the General medical council.
In your country, is the law the same as this? How does the system work? Do experts have immunity? Can they be disciplined? Can you provide me with links?
Any help appreciated,
Tild
ps, am also interested in french/german system if anybody knows about them.
