Who thought it started out ok, then went up the shitter?
Also WTF with the ending
They missed out the whole portal being opened, Roger dying and the fact Billy Costa or whatever he's called was holding the dead fish as his daemon, then they cook it iirc

First sentance that came out of Lyra's mouth I thought "wow she's a bad actress", but then after that everything was pretty good on her part.

She was too pretty for Lyra, the character is a bit of a tear away/tom boy in appearance.

lol did anyone listen to the end song? LYYYRRRAAAAAAAAAAA what on earth was that about!

Fucking loved it. Perfect festive film :)

Extremely hard for a child to play the main role think she did it brilliantly. Compare her to the other child actors who were very flat. Kidman did a great job also.

Hadn't read the books before but definitely will now. Know theres gonna be alot more detail in them than the film was able to show.

i really enjoyed it, i've not read the books though. ordered them online last night after getting home from cinema, only £8.99 for the trilogy!
surely the thing you said in the first spoiler, no i cant do them so ill just refer, will happen in the other films as that first thing seems quite major to just ignore completely, they're making all 3 into films

you need to type spoiler] (with a [ before the S) and then the closing version which is [/spoiler]

I also think the part I mentioned will be one of the first few scenes in the new film.

Pullman, Philip - His Dark Materials, Book 1, txt
Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials 2 - The Subtle Knife
Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials 3 - The Amber Spyglass

If you look Phillip Pullman up on wikipedia its hilarious, so many religious people are against him and his book, calling him a Heretic lol.

They can suck my arse. It's truely quite funny how some people don't seem to grasp the idea or pull towards fantasy. Just as funny as the thing with Harry Potter especially when Rowling announced Dumbledore was gay :p. I'd love to get them all in one place and arrange a Christian Bashing event.

I don't usually say anything about religion as it's quite a brittle subject especially with being a devout athiest, and I usually respect people's beliefs, but when they try to intervene with things such as this, where they could just shut the fuck up, let people do as they wish and fuck off somewhere else, is irritating.
