Noob infiltrator

I'm totally noob about infiltrator trying to make a CS specced and need some1 to help me.
Pls tell me if i'm correct about those point:
Dex increase the evade rate
Quick increase combat speed
Strg increase melee dmg (for slash)
+11 skill on the CS line will increase style dmg
51 composite skill enough for slash
DW will increase chanse to hit with both weap
does + Env skill affect the chance to land a poison? (need to know if i can swap to a spare piece of armor with + env skill on my bag to imbue the weapon or i will loose the chance to land the poison)
What about resist, there's some resist i can avoid to cap on template?

Hehe i know some point sound very noobish :eek7: ty btw

Evade is based on a combination of Dex / Qui

Qui does affect your swing speed, yes.

For a slash inf, Str increases your weapon skill, which in turn increases your Damage. (i think)

The higher your composite CS skill, the higher your CS damage will be, yes (as far as i can see)

51 composite slash will cut varience, yes. But 39+11 will leave you with less weaponskill than 50+11 for example. (what noticable effect this will have i am not sure though)

DW does indeed increas the chance to SWING (not guarenteed to hit with both) both weapons. The % chance to swing both weapons is 25+(DW/2).

The only thing your envenom skill does, is allow you to use poisons. it is perfectly acceptable to have MP gloves with +8 venom, and only have +3 venom in your template (giving +11 when swaping to the gloves)

IN my opinion, the Essential resist for an inf (apart from all melee resists obviously) is Body. (poision damage and Bone dancer lifetap) Other ones to think about are... heat (most vamp claws), matter (warlock chambers) and cold (Shade DD) if you are taking any other kind of energy damage, then you are bieng actively nuked by a caster, and have done something wrong.


The above is correct as far as i know... although, clarification of the effects of Weaponskill, str and CS spec on the damage of a slash inf would be appreciated, as i am not 100% sure myself.

i KNOW that +cs affects my damage, but am not sure how my total WS and str affect the damage also

some stuff:
250 qui caps out swing speed, best buff gives you +93, so you would need 157 qui unbuffed. for a briton with 0 qui at creation (60) you get 83 at level 50. Resulting in a 74 qui for your template to cap out on swing speed.

300 dex & 300 qui is said to be sufficient enough for capped evade rates. Well, you cant have all, so, you stay @ 250 qui. Being a thrust infil, you need to cap out on dex anyway.. but being slash, you can't have all :p you can do with 300 dex. Again: 300-155 (buffs)-60 (creation)-45 (due to leveling up) = 40 dex needed in the template.

This and the above will give you some space to work in, but it's still very thight. You need to cap +str, +hits, +con (less important then +hits, due to str/con debuffs, and hits dont debuff), +dual wield, +stealth, then the toa bonusses (+speed/style & base damage), and have semi decent resists :>

My infil being 44slash & 44cs, i just up this +3 slash, and +7cs, to give more room for the other stats mentioned above. Due to realm ranks this will go above 51.

This isn't quite what you asked for, but still i hope it helps you on your template attempts.

On templates...

My Infs template does the following...

100 Str
100 con
90 (ish) qui
300 hits
11 slash
11 crit
11 dw
11 stealth
3 venom (i use some mp cloth gloves with +8, to get +11 when applying)
capped melee resists
capped body
capped heat
average resists for rest of damage type.

i use the Inf champ mainhand, and the DS dagger offhand, 4 pieces of MP leather, 1 item from the inf epic, and the DS vest.

It is by no means a crap template, but i have no doubt it could be improved upon dependent on how much you have to spend, or are willing to farm.

PS - i am speaking from a Classic point of view.
