I thought dedicated RvRers only wanted fair fights ;)
When I say RvRers, I don't just mean the FGs; there are all sorts of ppl who RvR a lot in different ways. My skald for example solos 90% of the time, as does Kagato and many others. Lots of times we kill lower RR ppl and that's not exactly fair, but far more I find myself fighting mulitple low RR opponents.

For example if 5 RR2 stealthers attack me I can generally manage to take out 1 or 2 before I die, I will now be penalized for this.

Solo is a bad example though because we are a dying breed, but the same principle applies to FGs, if they run into a zerg and manage to kill a FG or 2 but they will now get penalized...

And to answer your quote Yaruar, when I played JH, some of the most fun fights we had were Vs high RR opponents like DH, AD etc. But you will never have these fights more than a few times nightly; the rest of the time you kill whoever you can find.

People like Archeon and Yaruar won't be affected by this change at all. The people who only play daoc, only pay their subs so they can RvR are the people this affects.

I agree to a degree, most of the time I find myself fighting multiple low RR night shades and rangers etc (im not saying shades stealth zerg more then sb's, just that most sbs seem to have crawlin back under there rocks since LA nerf). And even if greatly out numbered can still usually take some with me, however I do still think it should scale the other way, if you are low rr and you do manage to kill another high RR by yourself you should get more rps then usual.

Don't forget that RP will be easier to get in NF. Or perhaps I should say 'action' will be easier to find.

They should instead focus more on the massive use of buffbot's witch has a lot more influence on a fight than a few realm ranks diffrence.

Wabbit--we've had this discussion before. Your whines are very very old and show exactly what kind of a person you are. If you are so bitter, I don't see what you are doing playing this game at all, because it obviously can't be good for you.

and on the other side of the scale, you could be interpreted as:

'Wahaaaaaaaa I have to work and do other stuff all the time and i dont get enough time to play so i have to put up with people who can afford the time owning me all the time and me giving them RPs cos i cant spend the time to get one-button-win abilities and dr00l a lot....!'

swings and roundabouts really :x

it's gonna be no sense of killing warders zerg considering that 1 warders give you 3-4 times less rps then decent rr zerger ;)
== kill Zoy, Outlaw and leave the rest mezzed. Return in 10 mins, repeat :p

As people seem to earn a multiple from their usual rp`s in NF, i think it was a logical move... We don`t want shitloads of invaders/defenders running around now, do we ?

I think you guys sayin it should go the other way (bonus>penalty) missed a point. If the intention of the change was to actually CHANGE SOMETHING then granting more rps for killing a higher RR and no penalty for the reverse wouldn't change a damn thing. When was the last time any high RR group got owned of a low RR group? The penalty is the change. The other is so irregular it's not relavent.

I aint sayin it's right. But if the intention is to "change sommin" for good or bad then it's the only of the two that'll make "a change" (other than the fact thier making it more favourable to zerg the shit out of you when @ low RR...........more rps yippeeee.......which it'll do either way tbh :puke: ).

To add a few of my own thought on this:

Similar mothods have existed in other games (chess for example) for many years. The result is generaly an increase in the quality of the players. A player getting hammered by a much stronger opponent learns nothing, it generaly happen's too fast to learn anything. This reduces the reason to request such a bad match up.

I think that works well but only in set arena's (where players of equal skill can be pre matched). The randomness of DAoC just results in high RR's getting fucked over. It won't improve the quality of the average player in DAoC (there's only one emain an therefore one arena). It'll just reduce the amount of rps earned by the more dedicated players without reason.

The only other spin i can think of is this:
Yer average social player needs a reason to keep playing. The high RR guys are dedicated players but are not the majority. In terms of keeping asses in seats it's a smart, if fucked up, medium term business move.

Nice idea not thought through imo.
