No more running 2 clients???

I used to run Classic Client & SI Client on the same computer or run 2 Classic Client's on the same computer but it seems since 1.60 I now can't. I have 2 daoc accounts - but just one copy of SI.

I now get a message telling me I can only run one client - I know you can run two SI clients on the same computer though - is this a ploy to make me buy another copy of SI? :)

You need 1 SI per 1 Daoc, Since you activate your SI-daoc account with SI cd-key.

its because you used to haxxor with daox to make your buffbot work. now you have to pay to make it, until someone makes a daox crack for you...

oh well

whichever haxxoring, it doesnt help you run SI an classic simultaneously. until some bastid makes a hax.

2x DAoC is supported within the SI client now. However Classic doesn't support windowed mode or 2x clients, so if you want to use 2 accs on the same PC, you have to have 2 SI enabled accounts, or find a h4><.

Help :)

Anyone know where i'm going wrong ?

Flat panel running at 1280x1024
1gb 333DDR memory
XP 2100 Processor
GF4 TI4600

2 separate SI clients set to run at 800x600 each and SI config set to run in windows mode. Problem is that the game scales horribly using 800x600 to 1280x1024 rather than going into a window. If I alt tab it takes me to windows desktop if I tile windows the daoc windows dont appear. Always running in 1280x1024. Another oddity is that if I have two clients running the non active character moves when ever I move on the active client ?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

cheers....

put inactive char into speech mode (press enter) should stop him running around

tried that but the fecker still runs round into walls/water and mobs. Would running a different install of SI on the same machine benefit, suspect not though.

Run a different install. Copy your directory over (better than reinstalling and patching everything & keeps your settings) and make a new shortcut to that directory.

Or remap the keys on one of the chars so they aren't the same movement keys then the 2nd char won't run around all the time :p

OR do what i said. After i did it i dont move around anymore when not beeing in daoc. But i might have been under some strange influence and be totaly wrong or maybe just were lucky.

Worth a try tho

Bought another copy of SI didn't see any other way round it.

Put both clients into windows mode and running at 800x600 - all seems ok not much lag, fps ok and not having that problem of other char moving when moving one client either so happy about that.

good for you

I´m still wondering how much of an upgrade my pc would need to run 2 fullscreen clients ...

(running 1600*1200) ;)

I run two windowed clients without lag at 1152x864. Have SI effects like water off on one of them though.
Machine is:
2x XP2400+
1GB DDR RAM
GF4 Ti4600 128MB
SCSI HDD (copy one)
IDE HDD (copy two)

The two cpus really makes a HUGE difference to performance with two clients running. Running both with SI water tends to rag my gfx card a bit too much.

I can run two clients on my comp in 1280x1024 with
1.333mhz AMD athlon
512 mb ram
and a msi geforce 4 ti 4200
with full water effects and shadows
with practically no lag at all

only problem is that I have to have to directories with daoc and run one from each, and then change the control setting in one of them. If I don't I wont be able to use two set of controls (actually on the foward/backward and strafe keys I need to change) and if the two clients has the same controls, I will steer both characters at the same time

If you run 2 client make sure to have the fluffy water effects off, also don't go anti-aliasing over 4x, and forget about texture sharpening (If you're a geforce 3/4 user).

Using this (only 4x anti aliasing) my comp always ran smooth, both clients at 1152x864 (don't ask).

Hell I could run 3 clients smoothly.

My compo spec is:

Amd k7 TB 900 Mhz (Not OC'd)
512mb PC133 Ram
Geforce 4 ti 4400
2x Maxtor 7200rpm IDE 40gigs

And ofcourse windows 2000 SP 3.

Just need to get hold of a new DAoX for SI and Classic so I can run them both again =/

My comp spec is :

AMD athlon 2000xp
1gig ram
MSI gf4 Ti4800
Win2k

I have 2 versions of daoc + SI . i can start to use both accounts windows on the same comp then after about 10 minutes i get the blue screen of death with some sort of memory dump error and something about run out of memory. Didnt have any problems before the patch. I used daocwin before patch.
