Please note that we're holding off on a change mentioned several letters ago:

=======================================

Dark Age of Camelot

Version 1.54 Test Release Notes

November 5, 2002

=======================================

- Characters riding horses should no longer have a shadow mid-body.

- Horses should no longer show a "rubberband" jerky motion.

- Fixed a bug where after splitting a stack, you couldn't pick up gold in your inventory

- We have temporarily backed out of the change for awarding realm points for mez/stun, etc. - it was changing some powerleveling dynamics that we need to fully assess before this change goes in.

- Fixed the 1/2 timer problem with gray items in spellcrafting.

I think its better to have that one out. A grouped CCer will get his rps when his group is able to wipe the enemys becuase they are mezzed/stunned.

Okok all cc-ers now you can slap me *runs away trying a place to hide*

Agreed Whandall. Obviously those crazy Americans have been farming RP chain mezzing/rooting/stunning each other. Any system where non-offensive spells result in RP will be abused.

I would have thought, that they would have to die, before you get the RP's for mezzing them :)

the reason it's out is because it's screwing up PvE :)

i.e. you mezz a load of critters for people and they kill them one by one...

can do that now, after that change you couldn't

they're thinking of whether they want to keep it in I think :) (I say lose it!)

Oh and the reason it's needed..

if you aoe nuke 50 people, you get your group RP.

if you aoe mezz them, you don't get anything for your group (despite the fact that your mezz probably allows the few groups kicking around to wipe em out)

Tis only fair :)

Why would giving RPs for mez screw up PvE? I think I'm missing something here...

i think they reimplemented it as a spell that does 'damage'.

if you mezz someone in rvr, + someone else out of the group kills it without you doing any dmg you'll get realmpoints just like you would have used a dd spell or something like that on the enemy.

If used in pve, the current version of mezz doesnt take any exp points. But with the changes the mezz will tell the gameengine someone else hit the mob, thus splitting the xp. If, however, the mezzer is for example lvl 50 and is helping lvl 15 people, the lvl 15 people wont get any xp at all because the game will thing a lvl 50 interfered with the monsters (and they will probably con grey to the lvl 50) thus giving no xp at all.

I thought mez currently couldnt be used for powerleveling low levels ... while stun could be

Nope, lvl 50 bard aoe mezzes dampwoods, when it wears off and they aggro, lowbie group catapults them

I think people are assuming the CC'er will be grouped, which is not always the case. I am often ungrouped(have been for many levels) and mezzing for people in emain, although I don't really mind not getting RP's, it would have been a nice bonus.
