No more Nobrot

W000t, Goa nerfed my name, they say that Nobrot is against the CoC!!!!, wtf???

How the hell can it be against the CoC????

am I to be doomed to be Bogrot????? coz thats what they changed it to..

I asked them to explain why its against the CoC, but I doubt I will get a sensible answer... so...

And before those smartarses out there quotes the CoC, here it is

Although character names in keeping with the age and kingdom in which they are to develop are welcome, players are free to give their characters whatever names and nicknames they wish, as long as they respect the following rules. Please note that these rules also apply to guild names and surnames.

- Names must consist solely of alphanumeric characters.
- No religious, sexual or political references.
- No brand names, product names, character names or any other elements subject to copyright.

I can not see how Nobrot breaks the CoC, unless it means something horrid in an obscure European language..

"Nobrot" is a sexual reference. Not that I have anything against it, but it is in violation of what the CoC says, whether you ment it to be so or not. Sorry . Maybe if you ask they will let you change your name to a name of your choosing? They let GeForce change his name to Damionus when they originally changed it to Greenforce ( lol ) from GeForce.

Personally I reckon, "Someone was just killed by nob rot" sounds a lot worse. Doesn't sound like a nice way to go, does it?

It's simple really, if you don't want your character names to get reported/changed, then be a little bit more imaginative than Cheesey Dick or Ihadyour Mother. Whilst most of us might not be offended, there's always the risk that someone, at some point will be. So if you're that bothered about keeping a name, don't take the risk in the first place. If on the other hand, you do it for a short-lived laugh, fair enough, enjoy giggling or whatever while it goes unnoticed, but don't complain if/when it gets changed, because, to be honest, you asked for it

Unfortunary they changed it to Greenforce, which was also a copyrighted name (gasp! they broke they're own rules). So I got it changed to my choice, Damionus, shortly after

I still have not had a reply to my question, what part of the CoC does Nobrot contravene. I agree that the English slang word Nob can be misconstrued as offensive if used in a sentence, but surely not when it forms part of a name, would this also mean then that Nobly would also break the CoC?, or Nobby?, or Noblama?. perhaps it is the second syllable that breaks the CoC?, Rot; would then Cobrot be against the CoC?, or Hagrot perhaps?. Please change my name back to Nobrot, unless you can define why it breaks the CoC.

Hopefully Goa will put my name back as it was, I truley dont think its offensive... there are offensive names out there that will no doubt get a change... but you would have to be reeely picky to be offended by Nobrot, unless of course your are some lame Alb or Hibbie, that had a poison axe shoved up yer arse...

I was once asked if my name was against the CoC, ages ago, and started a thread on this board to see if people thaught it was.. and the overwhelming majority (to my recolection) didnt find it offensive... so why should Goa??..
