Blackberry's are massively popular with the youth of today from age 16-23, most college kids and uni students have blackberrys. RIM have a massive market there, and its down to blackberry messanger and bb groups.

Because the iFan tits don't go to the technical forum - there is nothing for them there. They want an out of the box and use, clamped down like shit piece of gadgetwhoreness to show off to their mates :)

I'm not a fan of the iphone-style icons always showing at the bottom, but the Galaxy S is android so you have the same homescreen/widget/shortcut functionality.

Samsung did add wifi/GPS/bluetooth/volume toggles in the notification pulldown, which seems pretty clever to me (atm I use the android "Power Control" widget for that).

How did the screen look? Haven't seen one of these SAMOLED babies in person yet, but my brother is dead set on getting a Galaxy S.

Screen looked very nice, better than the Hero I was comparing it to in bright light, but I prefered the touch response on the Hero.

Do they?

I did look at rolling out Blackberry's to our employees for the UK but in the end I couldn't justify the expense of having to add a new server and buy Blackberry's enterprise software because it's Professional software is not compatible with Server 2008. The added issue of having all email go via RIM's server was another unwanted inconvenience.

So we rolled out iphones instead and the set-up for each iphone's email is a 3 minute job with little to configure on the server either! The same's happened in all other European countries we are present in.

There's a far more detailed one somewhere that says it is and isn't bullshit at the same time. I'll link later if I can find it again.

I was amazed the other day by the fact that I couldn't bluetooth a photograph to a mate's iPhone, because I didn't have an iPhone.

Unbelievable.

The new Nokia N8 looks insane. It'll be out before the new iPhone and looks at least twice as good, assuming Symbian ^3 works.

The problem is it's based on Symbian, it's a dead platform, on it's way out. The number of apps is simply too small.

I'm more excited about the improvements which other phones will selectively take off this one.

Hopefully other phones will aim for higher resolutions, instead of web developers having to design for stupidly small resolutions we'll be able to just tweak a few things to fit into a slightly smaller space. Others might take the camera and video recording a bit more seriously, trying to focus on the quality of the camera instead of just looking at what they can throw in.

Oooooh, International Trading Commission have started digging into HTC's claims against Apple now...

Could end up in a world of hurt for Apple :)

Blah I was hoping apples business practices would bury it again just like they did vs windows.

Now they could be forced to be more open and actually survive beyond their original products creativity.

I wouldn't say it was a dead platform, mainly as there are a shitload more Symbian phones out there than there are Android and iOS.

Anyway as for the new iPhone. YOU MEAN YOU HAVE A 5 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA! Stop the fucking press, SonyEricsson and Nokia are years away from having such epic image taking capabilities.

5 years away to be honest. And not in the way you're thinking.

So Apple came into the mobile phone market to "release us from the the same thing year in year out with a slightly better camera and a couple of new features". And what is the iPhone 4? A 3GS with a slightly better camera and a couple of new features.

Well done Steve. Now I can see you for the media-savvy tosser you are.

Lawl.

BBC News - Users report 'fault' on iPhone 4

I also hear that iPhone OS 4 has been bricking older iPhones to which someone posted a comment "utter tosh Apple bashing".

My colleague came into work today after upgrading his iPhone to OS 4 ... it doesn't work at all now :D, so it's clearly a problem.

Oh well.

Well if that fault proves to be true, and cannot be fixed through software updates then Apple are in for a world of pain. There phones are not cheap, people will not be happy if this is not sorted.

It was nice ordering my Desire on Tuesday. Straight through to retentions and a pleasant conversation with a pleasant lady.
She said it was nice to talk about a phone OTHER than an iPhone for a change. :)

It also sounds like Apple didn't do their radiation testing properly...
