Serious lack of high level content in Albion I fear. Those of us in their mid to late 40's are forced to either kill tangler pygmies (slow xp) or kill witherwood trees (only a little faster xp).

You can do other things, drop hunting the Danaoin soldiers and Beanies ... wandering the frontiers to kill things; Ellyl auto's, all those are as much fun as ever --- but the old xp bar hardly moves at all. Which gets one a little bit frustrated :(

Do the Middies and Hibbies have the same sort of problems?

I've found a lot of people would rather sit around and do nothing, or wait for a spot at a decent xp group, rather than join forces with other groupless people. To my mind thats just daft -- even a dribble of xp is better than sitting on one's arse :)

Use the group feature mode, far to few ppl tend to use that, and its a quick and easy way to find or make a group.

That feature is bugged. TRied to use a few times but often come to the conclusion that the group is already full when u msg them.....

Or is it me?..... hmm makes me think

Weird, try using RightNow to report the bug then, it works fine here :) group leaders won't show up, except if the group ain't full ..

If everyone used the group feature, we would all level up much faster.

Yes the group feature is bugged, most of the time you ask group leaders for a spot they are allready full.

On Excalibur/Midgard it was more easy to find a group, i played there to level 40 so i don't know how it is at later levels. Far as i know there are no spots there like the Tanglers and Trees, most of the exp i get there was in Spindelhalla but its always overcamped.

Pygmy's are only any use as tanglers later on - 3 or 4 man tangler groups are best, and nice for cash.

Chainroot/AoE/powersonger+maybe someone to mop up any resists.

Trees frankly suck, but they are the only decent thing I found, and certainly I just did some 'gardening' (removing old wood and worms) for the last couple of weeks to hit 50.

Best XP in game is with a number of high level groups killing 4-5 calli guards at a time. Amazing drops too (AF100 Plate anyone?). However you need quite a lot of people and it's a bitch to organise.

Sometimes the Genius/Teador organised epic hunts move down to lyonesse after we have run out of spawns, so it's worth having a chat with them (or me I guess, i'm in the core group) sometime if you get really desperate.

Hope that helps.

no, the group function is not bugged as such, it is merely missing a feature.
It doesnt actively refresh after you open it. that means, that when you open it the spot is free, but while youre typing /tell x Korea Baba groop plase, i big keel j00 , the spot will be taken

Yoh stang, when you want to make a tree group 3 classes are needed as a start. Minstrel, theurgist and a healer class. One of them is you. Tanks are easy to get. If im online contact me and if i have no guild activity i for one would love to come, even if i have to travel to lyon from Snowdonia.

What i do is:

  1. /who theurg 40 49 (take the highest one first tho)
  2. /who minstrel 44 49 (no need for you to do that is there :p
  3. /who cleric same drill as 1 and 2
  4. depending if you have mates joining you get a paladin or 2 and char who can pull, like armsman/merc/scout(good one tho, as they die fast)
  5. fill up with some tanks (s/s are best as u will do most damage with theurg damage buff and pala chant), one light tank could also fill this spot.. even a good infi who has good aggro management can fill it (names that come to mind: Niar/Motom/Jadow: these guys have hit 50 or will soon because of this invaluable skill)
  6. last spot for anyone who u would like to join.. (tho a fire wiz will make pulling alot faster)
    [/list=1]

tada you have your tree group. Make your name known as a good messer and then groups will come to you. Tho this goes for any class that is good at what their job is.
Some favorites of mine are Nikademus and Perian

Note: u prolly know the drill on the list, but maybe others didn't

    Goodluck leveling to 50

its horses for courses drac, for example my ultimate group would be:

me and 2 other fire wizzies + 1 theu with AoE root
1 tank and a cleric.

how can you go wrong with that? everything dies due to aoe, tank hit anything that gets in the way, cleric for aoe mezz incase we pill the entire island and need to leg it ;)

If you're looking for the 'perfect' tree group may I recommend:-

Linnet, best minstrel in Albion !

Sru, what a theurgist and a lovely chap to boot

Scunner, cleric par excellance

Myddrin, senile old fire wizzy with a wicked sense of humour [just don't let him pull ... he AoE's all the time the silly old sod ;) ]

As for tanks... didn't spend much time with them last night sadly, but Boney of SoTL -- very impressive sir ! Not many tanks would have picked up the minstrel was in trouble and covered so quickly, and that was at midnight ... respect is due. Bugger, though, he'll be 50 soon and never have to see a tree again in his life.... :)

Well guys what level do you recommend for an armsman to do trees. Each time I head over to the area and ask for a group I am told nope to low. The thing that pisses me off is that they already have one or two armsman my level there. :(

Have I just pissed off the wrong people in game or somthing, cause now I can't see myself exping there. To say I have been made a little upset by it would be an understatement.

Some people just dont know how close I have come in the last few days to just following my friends lead and clicking on the delete char button. :(

3-4 man tangler groups are obviously not possible for most classes, hence trees are the mainstay of levelling (while tougher, just stick to it and it'll go by itself).

Cail. guards do not drop 100 af plate; they drop 98 af pieces. Their named leader DOES, occassionally, drop af 100 BPs, but she might just as well drop af 50 robes, af 100 vests etc. Never gotten a bloody hauberk though :(

P.S. most of the time she doesn't drop anything now, probably something to do with mythic upping her spawn rate.

heh it is possible for any class at lv47-50 if u have a tank and a mins with a caster and a healer or whatever it can be done.

Gimly old fella its well hard to get into those tree groups. And usually when people get settled there you need dynamite to shift them.

At sub 45 there are lots of good places to get good experience -- sadly at 45 onwards the trees are virtually the only place where you can get that xp bar moving at all.

So, please don't delete that adorable armsman of yours -- stick with it! Believe me when you get to 45 onwards you'll be blooming sick of the place ;)

43 isn't too low for the trees as long as there are a couple of 45+ plate wearers there. As Turamber says, there's only 3 tree pulling spots, and they're almost always camped, so that means no more than 24 people at any one time. Knock out 3 healers, 3 theurgists and 3 minstrels (the more or less essential classes) and you have 15 spots left. Getting one of these 15 spots is basically a matter of timing. If I'm ever in a group with a spot, I'll never tell you you're too low mate.

However, I would recommend a few other spots for you - the deep barrows (wights and celts), Dartmoor (particularly the quarry) and the Pennines all provide good XP for 40-45.
