Ok, ive been driving for 19 years and never been the cause of a crash, or claimed on my insurance.

Currently, I get a 7 years "no claims" bonus.

It would appear I am being discriminated against ? I am sure there are a good percentage of drivers who also have never had a claim, my dad is the same, only hes got 27 years no claims.

In the sales push for new customers - maybe a prudent idea to advertise a car insurance company for people with 15 + years no claims - and obviously it would be super cheap !

I remember about 10 years ago, all i could get was 5 years no claims bonus....dunno im thinking maybe the Government puts some cap on it ?

anyone else a supa dupa safe driver ?
(ive done over 20k a year btw)

Try to change your insurance. Often there are interesting offers to get new members, which older members won't get. I heard a lot of financial advisors tell people to change insurances every now and then to get profit of new packets and new-member bonuses.

Just ask a few others and check what you'd pay there. They can see the time you've been without accident, so you're an interesting new customer aswell =)

Might be related to the 6 year data protection legislation or something? Only ever had a motorbike for a few years, so your guess is as good as mine.

Insurance is just so much easier out here. You pay 3% of the value of your car. If you have an accident you call the police they arrive, determine blame and you either get a red (bad) or green (lucky) form. Which you take to the insurance company who then take the car and get it fixed.

3% is the norm here but that is only because of the amount of accidents in Dubai. One of the highest road accidents per capita in the world I believe. I guess Europe would be a lot lower premiums.

I think this is a fair system. You pay more for a higher value car as they are more expensive to repair etc.
