What? Another remake of La Femme Nikita, or another remake of the TV series, or just a repeat?

Is it just another unrealistic thing where a very fit, slim bird beats up big chunky muscle-bound men? (Rather than being bitch-slapped as would really happen?)

Or am I barking up the wrong leg?

/refuses to google

From what I've read it's set after the events of La Femme Nikita (the TV series), which was rather good there bucko don't you know

If it isn't and it's just a shitty remake, I shall be mostly grumble chops about the whole affair!

Ah interesting. I didn't know this was in the offing.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1592154/

The original French film was great. The Yank remake was truely shit. The TV series was great with lots of backstabbing and all kinds of skullduggery.

I'll definately be taking a look at this :)

Didnt like the premise so far, and didn't like the lead actress either ( despite having yellow fever ).

Oh dear....... It's pretty average, I doubt it will get more than one season based on the first episode.

The dialogue is awful, they've made the show too american. If you watched la femme, then you won't like what they've done with the characters or the basic storyline.

I think the only way it could be enjoyed is if you had never seen anything nikita based before.

Maggie Q just isn't hot.

She has a nice face and a nice body but her personality is like so fucking flat.

I have no idea what her personality is like, but she does have a face like a very pretty horse. Still, fine body.

The poor acting is more of a turn off.

Yeah she just can't convey anything in her acting, she comes across as a total lifeless "asian w/ tits and martial arts" but no anything else casting choice.

I havn't gotten a single emotion conveyed from her acting.

Micheal is just as bad, they have taken the two coolest characters from any TV series in the past 15 years and made them gash :(

La femme remake would have been better w/ Fargo from Eureka as Berkhoff, Claire Foy as Nikita, and Lovejoy as Michael.

Hmmm we can dream

Ditto. It's all very average and doesn't work anywhere near as well as La Femme Nikita.

Also they destroyed the Michael character, the whole point of him was that he simply responded to every other character with either "Yes" or "Nikita" and you never knew his motives for certain. In this within the first 30 minutes they're trying to set him out to be some sort of guardian for the recruits, wtf?

I'll probably continue to watch it but only on the basis of having dropped my expectations through the floor.

Also, the name changes are fucking stupid.

Oh and I'm curious to see how they're going to make us believe that the Student wanted in on all of this? Frankly I didn't care about her at all.

Watched this today. Its not quite as bad as some of the posts above led me to believe but its a long way from great.

Maggie Q is pretty much as described above. Lifeless and uninteresting. Even the normally reliable Xander Berkely wasn't so good.

However, the original series had some major turkey episodes too, so lets put the rose tinted spyglasses away for now.

There is one rose on the dung heap, if you noticed. The sidekick assassin guy with the glasses was absolutely excellent. Exactly the right amount of gravitas and threat... and he had almost no lines in it. I think it's Rob Stewart, credited only as Hit Man. If they salvage this, I hope we see a lot more of this guy.

I'll check out the next episode or so. Some series that I've really enjoyed have started out less than impressively (Dollhouse being an example).

Agree with Eca's comment about getting the Fargonator in as Berkhoff but disagree regarding Lovejoy.

He was quite good. It was like they split Michael into two people.

La Femme Nikita was mint.

I have no shame in admitting I used to leave the local around 10 to watch Buffy followed by La Femme Nikita on a friday night :)

I never finished watching LFN, it was a late night C5 show and I couldn't stay up and watch it all the time. Kinda enjoying going back and rewatching it as my original experience was more than a little disjointed.

Gosh I would smash Peta Wilson seven ways from sunday :p

Peta Wilson really did a great job portraying stong and vulnerable at the same time, which is part of the heart of the whole concept.

Ms Q portrays only TV company investment.

Well, so far so same same. This has no concept of the original TV series and is all over the shop. Everything that made the original a classic is gone to pot.

Yeah, I really wasn't impressed with episode 2. Division is a pale shadow of section. Section really were hardcore, they very rarely made such big mistakes. Micheal's character is awful. Madeline seems the only one to have remained the same. Birkoff is a shambles, and the cool assassin guy didn't even get a look in this episode.
