Does old apply to people who have just discovered bands? I'm guessing not. I like bands that formed 30 years before i was born.

Anyway, yes Nightwish rock. Nemo is another good song by them that you should like if you liked this one.

Nightwish rock, I'm just really pissed off that they sacked their old lead singer (the one in all the songs apart from Eva), the new one is no where near as good, you can really tell that she doesn't have the opperatic training that the old one did. =(

Crimson Tide / Deep Blue Sea, instrumental.... live recording... first time i heard it was in a amature promotion video for Darkness falls (the DAoC dungeon).
Really damn good cover.

As said before, the singer is not the same in the picture as it is in the songs you mentioned. The new singer has only made one song so far (Eva). The old one got booted for being a complete biatch.. or so they tell us anyway ;>

And yeah, it was a very good band before, not sure will it be that anymore. Even though i do think that Eva was quite ok.

(how come you have never heard of nightwish before? ;p)

This is the NEW nightwish:

Sadly you're a bit late in your fanboi'ism.

Also yes, that isn't Tarja, it's the new one, Anette Olzon, who is Swedish, and thus, making it no longer a finnish band.

Also it's gone a bit pop'ish.

Yeah they got some great tunes, but I still think Tarja is much more prettier

aye the choros sticks it's really anoying, but that's what defines a hit, the "hook"
btw i think the new lead is more "pop'ed" on purpouse, and if thats so, then it's a preatty admireble and brave choice, even tho i personally prefer the old lead's style

well, tbh, I don't care that much for the music, but the fact there is one swede in it makes it way much better then when it were only fins :p

was busy in the summer, and back at uni :) so fresher 2 weeks out the way and random boredom i'll pop on:)
and olgaline, yeah true, but nightwish have never been that mainstream tbh, from my view anyway, they're not really known at all in UK, dunno where you are from:p. but gothic rock not publically popular
i downloaded the album, it's pretty good tbh i like the change, as i was bored of the powerful opera voice

well really depends what part of europe you visit as to goth rock popularity,
think the uk is at the very low end, and places like Germany, finland, at east block being at the top end, the charts would prob back me up on that " I'd Hope" In Denmark where I live it's not "the buzz" but preatty mainstream along most other genre's, as for my personal view on nightwish, well they'r ok'ish and like most i prefered the old lead, but dont as such dislike the new lead either.

Ps: I'm not especially into gothrock or any such thing, it's more for me a question of exploring a wide variety of music ;)
I've aken quite a few hits over the years for admitting to liking things like Hansons mbob, boyband songs, sappy love songs, cliche gangster rap, hillbilly country, you name it... ;)
