You mean before they trade in the stealth bracer for the right one? Bit sucky to get one off a bm since they need to trade it to get the right one ;)

Yeh - They'll kill me after they found out they gave their nice item away :)

So what procs are good to put on weapons? You're the specialist Elerand ;)

Ablative? DoT?

Ablative? DoT?

For a ns I say a DOT, possibly a DD offhand, I wouldn't bother with an ablative cos if you have ablative on your armour they have different values and I don't think a higher value one will overwrite a lower value one, I have to test that one at some point but waiting for an armour to proc can be a nightmare :D

DOTS will combine with poison if they do different dmg types, so get an oro's (heat) or one of the galla ones (energy but like that is ever gonna happen!).

Trouble with the oro's is it only has a 25% bonus tho :(

Darkdancer has a lot of DOT stuff and with wild arcana does some insane crit dmg if he gets 3 on the go :D

I accidentally (read I thought he wanted ablatives and he thought I knew already he wanted reactive DOTS, it's complicated bleah) put reactive ablatives on his armour and he's happier since he has 3 and they go off quite a lot, saved his ass several times.

I say DOT mainhand and DD offhand or DOT offhand so you keep a matter DOT ticking, it'll refresh each time it goes off basically.

Hmm.. I'm not sure yet. :/

Maybe DoT on mainhand and AF on offhand? On the body all ablatives I guess. I think it's great to have a cold DD on mainhand and heat DD on offhand - but resists and stuff make it alot less damaging then DoT. But you know how vain I am :D

Consider putting AF charges on a shield, then you can decide when it might be more useful to you.

Shields are generally very cheap to get made at 100% qua and you can put the charges on a rowan round shield :p

So piss cheap, the only prob is the cost of recharging but 40g for 10 charges isn't that big a deal :)

Should also mention that DD procs will fire a little more often than DOT's but I've seen some very nice DOT dmg, 90 per tick if I'm lucky and once I had 114 and I'm a tank! lol

I've seen several ways you can do this.

Personally I have DoTs on both weapons, and will have either all reactive DoTs or 50/50 DoT's/Ablatives on my armour

I guess either is good, but I'm leaning towards all reactive DoT's at the moment (is there anyone who can do these in hib?)

Nice one, now I know who to come see once I get my armour SC'd up.

I'd like to do some tests to see if there's any difference between the procs.

Buy a couple of low level weapons and put the level 47 DoT proc and heat/cold DD on them and see what the proc rate is and how much damage it hits for.

Takes time & money which I don't have (yet, hopefully). I'll try that in a holiday soon.

The advantage of DD's is, they don't have a duration. A DoT proc is only usefull at the start of a fight, if it goes off half way it's a bit pointless as you miss out on alot of ticks. I'll think about it :)

Maybe DD's on the armor too.. I dunno.. :)

I can do that, the "poison ball" effect as the yanks call it :)

Good solo, awful stuff if you grp since a target with a dot on it (which could be 1 tank or more on your tail) becomes unmezzable/rootable.

The DD is surprisingly powerful if you fancy doing some dmg and not screwing things up too much for your grp mates :D

I hate the low hit % on gloves/boots, in the past two months or so I've had haste/dot proc on my armour the DOT has only gone off once and whenever the haste goes off I'm already buffed :(

Ablatives on weapons are a bit weak, since they can only absorb 50 points max. However I do use a DOT mainhand and the ablative offhand as in protracted fights I felt the difference and if the armour goes off inbetween it's even better, really nice to see styled hits reduced by a massive amount and unstyled hits look all teeny weeny :D

PM anyone in aop to get hold of me, I'll cater to all your alchemical needs ;)

I feel like I'm touting for business in this thread lol

Ok, from what I know in parsed tests, proc rate is anywhere from 6% to 10% but since it's random it's hard to pin down, I hear procs have a 10% chance of going off and that DOT's have a slightly lower chancer to offset the fact you do dmg/tick.

Having said that the weapon DOT's have an amazing tendency to go off right at the start of a fight which is very nice indeed, the fact that if it goes off again before the first one has finished effectively overwrites the first is nice too since it basically keeps going.

One thing I noticed in tur suil a while ago, lvl 47 alch dot vs purp mobs gets resisted a lot but my oro's (lvl 49 req use but same dmg) hardly gets resisted at all, sorry just felt like mentioning that :D

I suggest ablatives on the most commonly hit parts (chest, sleeves, legs) and a DD on the helm, gloves/boots are waaaay less likely to get hit so either leave those free or put ablatives on them since you can never really count on dmg from those.

I regret putting dots on both mp weapons since they proc shit loads anyway...

If I cba to make myself new weapons then I would go for dd on offhand and dot on main hand...

Fiddled with the SC calc a bit and came up with this, please note that this is with Env swapping.

Note that i havent used 37/32 on all but 36 on 2 items, because of the rounding of only having skills and resists on an item, so im sure it can be done better(couldnt be arsed fiddling around more after i was done).

Stuff that arent capped:
Hits - Need 5 more points
Energy - Need 2 more
Heat - Need 1 more
Matter - Need 1 more
Spirit - Need 1 more

So all in all, this is in total 4% resists below *all* capped and 5 below hits cap.

Maybe if some of the lower utility items were swapped for some galladoria drops or some high end ROG drops it can be done better.

Or maybe if using the Summoner cloak, but that would mean that youd have to switch out on the ixthiar bracer(too much thrust resist).

Anyway, just noticed that it was better than the one you found on VNboards so i thought id post it ;)

All items are easily aquireable except for the belt that need ~1,5 FG(can prolly be done with less) to complete the quest.

Edit: Crap, just noticed that i made an error on one of the rings from the SI quest, its supposed to be +CD and not +Blades, which means that id have to swap CD for blades on the boots.

However that means that this template also works for a pierceshade since all +weapon gems are on the SCed parts.

Ok, i was bored, so i made another one, tho this one uses the Grand summoner mantle and used the Ixthiar bracer of strenght instead of the Stealth one(should be able to trade one from a bard)

Basically, missing 1 matter ;)

Yes, i do realize that the offhand wep is only 35/32, so i believe that last point of matter could be squeezed in somewhere, but i would have to squeeze really hard since all that matter is on jewelry and thus an extra imbue slot is what is missing, not imbue points....

Hmm.. with the template I posted I have:

Stats:
Str: 74 Int: 0 Hits: 204
Con: 75 Pie: 0 Power: 0
Dex: 75 Cha: 0
Qui: 75 Emp: 0

Cold: 28 Matter: 25 Thrust: 27
Heat: 18 Spirit: 21 Slash: 25

Skills:
11 Celtic Dual 11 Critical Strike
11 Piercing 11 Stealth

Which means:

8% less than cap on heat, 2% less on energy than cap, 1% less on matter, 5% less on spirit. This is because I edited the template a little bit because luri's have 5% crush and energy resist (right?). I know it's not perfect, but so be it. At least it's easy :)

Using MP gear and some of the new 1.60 items..

You can do a fivespec SC template , cap all stats and skills, Hits, and close to capping most Resists.

It IS possible.. Ebonn has been working hard on this. :]

CD is very good actually. The offhand hits are nice especially when there's a proc on your weapon.

I have 5 (spec) + 12 (items/rr) + 12 (dualist reflexes) = 27 CD. I dual wield about 50% of the time in PvE somehow.. I'll make some logs next time I solo.

It -is- very very usefull. And yes +11 envenom on armor is usefull aswell, but I don't like the hassle with many many expensive items and quests. You know how limited my playing time is.

Storm, just so you know, CD is very good, at least for a stealther since they need *every* little damage they can get because all their fights are essentially duels or very small group fights.

Right, I've made my final template now. If you still have a comment or so just let me know. Yeah I know it's expensive, but at least it's a challenge to get it :)

Overcapped things not included -

Config Report with PA / stealth / envenom weapon:

Cold: 26 Matter: 26 Thrust: 26
Heat: 26 Spirit: 26 Slash: 15

Skills:
11 Critical Strike
11 Envenom
11 Stealth
10 Piercing
4 Celtic Dual

Config Report with melee weapon:

Stats:
Str: 75 Hits: 200
Con: 75
Dex: 75
Qui: 75

Resists:
Body: 26 Energy: 26 Crush: 26
Cold: 26 Matter: 26 Thrust: 26
Heat: 26 Spirit: 26 Slash: 26

Skills:
11 Piercing
9 Celtic Dual
7 Stealth
6 Critical Strike
5 Envenom

Don't see many flaws in this template, the only flaw I can find is 15% slash resist in case of a stun/mezz before you can switch weapons.

Weapon switching doesn't bother me, I've done this so often in BG I'm used to it. Plus applying three poisons is good :)

Items are fairly easy get. :)
