Last time i played Fatal (Alb) in the BG i had 23+2 Envenom, on a previous re-roll i had 15 Envenom

To be honest the differance in DoT was not that great and hardly worth spending the points that early on, my other skills suffered from the 23+2 Envenom.

What sort of items would you be using in Hib ? i know in alb getting that +2 envenom was damn hard !! is it easier to find +enven and +stealth items in hib ?

well in hib there's an af48 leather helm from spraggon den with +3 stealth that's ideal for BGs (pretty rare tho I think). dunno bout + envenom items.. think you can use shadow crystal orb by then (lvl48 or something, very very common) a gem with +2 envenom and stealth.. it'll degrade fsat but does give it's stat bonuses.. might be other +envenom stuff you can conceivably use too

Shadow Crystal Orb... fairly common jewel drop in Corus Pit with +2 each to stealth and envenom, every good Thidranki twink has one :) Alternatively, I hear the toads in Koalinth drop a +2 envenom jewel with DD charges - they'd be campable by a BG level shade.

Cath gloves, AF72 leather has another +2 envenom and +1 crit strike, get your main/guildie/fairy godmother to camp siabra raiders in Bog of Cullen for this and the rest of the Cath set.

Master assassin/rogue overlord etc pendants USED to have +envenom, but the ones now dropping have been changed to +pierce. If you're lucky, you can find someone with one of the old ones in their vault.

Or, of course, you could get some items spellcrafted to order once the patch is in.

FEAR THE STAFF SHADES!

For they are uber!!!

soon as my accounts up again i'm going to start a staff shade
to see which is better between pierce and staff,

for the record my staff ns template is going to be

CS 21
Stealth 19
Envenom 20

seems to be a good spec in my head, but there again everything i think of seems a good idea but screws itself up pretty quickly :rolleyes:

Hmm... since Alchemy arrived, I have started playing my Nightshade again - respecced him to be a Venomshade.

High weapon, maxed out poison, high stealth - CS after the BG's ;)

Due to SC I will be able to have all the bonusses in weap, env. and stealth maxed out.

It works well enough to solo oranges (as long as the poison sticks;)) without losing more than 40% of my health.

Edit:
Hmmm...
15+5 pierce
20+5 env
24+5 stealth

I will give it a try at least;)

Feck, I am in a hurry so I didn´t read ALL of it.

But a quicky if nobody said allready, now with SC you can easy get some crafted 98-99% stuff and imbue + stealth and envenom just for BG =)

Post 24 stealth in thid gives no benefit.

i think specing a NS,SB and infli come down to how you want to play it, but heres 2good specs for a NS

Stealth=19
CS=21
Wpn=18
Env=10

this gives you a good damage and a good crit hit and with items you can be maxed out on stealth/CS/Wpn.

This spec works very nicely for me.

Hmmm... still going to try out my Venomshade...

20+5 env - that about 600 points of dam after 20 secs - if the poison sticks for that.

Coupled with high stealth and some CD (those nice 'from behind' styles) or maybe CS high enough to get Backstab II should be fun. :)

I deleted all my characters on Excaliber.50 to roll some chars on Albion.

I give up on that server...

Teh shtoopid ratio is just too high.
Maybe Zargar should fix the flux compensator...

Will 20+5 envenom work? Or is 24 in every skill the definite cap?

I am pretty sure 20+5 envenom will work, if you spellcraft don't put envenom on your weapons though!

You sheathe your weapon then try to apply posion on your weapon.

The skillcap of 24 for Stealth is because of the checks are always done with Stealth level versus player level, so you go past the minimum "bubble" with 25+ stealth and affects nothing.

imo the best route to take for a Shade built PURELY for BGs is to keep pierce as low as possible CS = 21 is a must for PA, pierce is pointless for BG since u will only need to hit once.

Keep stealth as high as possible there are advantages to having >24 stealth since u can see other stealthers b4 they see u. Envenom is also important but not as important and high stealth if I were redoing my shade I'd go for CS 21 Stealth 21+5(sprag den drops) pierce 10 and envenom 15 (4th dot).

+Envenom items are a bitch to get in Hib but stealth is nice an easy with helm and boots from sprag den (+3 and +2 stealth).

My shade did pretty well with 19+5 stealth CS 21 Pierce 17 envenom 10.

I pissed all over everyone in battlegrounds, I just had really high stealth and a bit of common sense.

Didn't even have PA. I just owned everyone (Including plate wearers I'll add) with backstab II. In all fairness I was probably the best on the battle field whilst I was there so that helped.

My advice is find lots of good items, have lots of patience and spam laugh at all the rez kills you get. Get yourself a reputation real quick and then fuck about with their heads by /waving to them.

Pick targets carefully, continue killing the same caster all night because it is funny and you know it pisses them off bad.

Mids are really crap in the battlegrounds, so are albs, it's Hibernia that stands out as the best realm there, I suggest going for chain wearers because it shows that you're a hard bastard and they usually end up running away from the sight of you. A nightshade is actually the strongest stealther class in the game, you have to play it well though.

I never try to annoy Hibs, they're too intelligent for that.

I respect the way they own everyone and enjoy their company.

Yes I find that roleplaying much more amusing than:
"How art thee brave sire"
"Lets make haste to this evil cave filled with vicious monster and slay them in the name of all good."

Halo got style, and when he pisses of people who get their pride injured over some letters written over internet, even more enjoyable. :D
