Nightfall, slowly getting there.

I realise it's early and yes, I realise there's adverts and the tables don't quite seem to fit into 1024 resolution.. Still ( ), as some people here know, I'm planning on running a NWN Campaign in a pen&paper style (1 DM, 4-6 players).

Never played any PnP RPGs before though, I was always either the Jackson & Livingstone books of yore or single player RPGs (wouldn't really class Warhammer & Blood Bowl as RPGs ), then eventually Computer/Console RPGs.

Am now proud level 6 paladin and still enjoying chapter one. NWN is truelly awesome.

How on earth some people get to chapter four in only a few hours play bewilders me... they must miss a lot of the fun and plot. Still, each to his own I s'pose...

Over the past few days I`ve been writing the first set of adventures for Nightfall. I`m a tad unsure how much to leave to takeover (so me directly controlling NPCs) and how much to leave to scripting. I`m sure a balance will be found at some point

Took me a long while to write all the plot (as I know it) then decide how to trickle it down to players before & during gameplay. Should be good fun anyway, hope to see some people from here there!

I think the trick is to script the simple, easily accomplished stuff, then only DM the complex encounters. Saves a lot of work on the DMs part. Or you could script everything, if you can, and this way players don't need a DM around if they want to play it.

I found the Versus Books World Builders Guide book a good read.
