No idea why I picked my nick when I was 8, I didn't even know it meant something then.

A dictionary says:

No cunning story I'm afraid - I was standing outside my door in halls and couldn't find my keys. For some bizarre reason the name just came to me at that instant.

It all started when i was talking to my dog. It suggested i played Q2 non-stop for 20 hours in a day. By that time, my brain was dribbiling out my ear. As i collected it in a glass, the door said, 'wibble.'

That's when i knew my name had to be Raznik.

But it wasn't, and my nick is Milkshake.

Therefore, don't ask me what flavour i am, or i will find you and eat your heart. I do have alot of spare time, and i can find these things out. Anyways, that's my goldfish, Fluffy, wanting a walk, so i'd better go.

i got the Mr Niceguy from the Jackie Chan film
Mr Niceguy, cos i used 2 b a pretty big fan (before he was famous in the UK and US)

Most of the time I play as StarBUCK cos

-- i drink coffee
-- that cheesy bloke from Battlestar Galactica played by a bloke named Dirk was called StarBUCK

(quality show that was) :)

Well, I was at a lan playing with some lame custom model of a massive bug with the name "CHTAHthatanl" or something equally elite, when it struck me that both the model and name were crap. So I was looking thru the models/skins and found male/sniper (?) which was camoflaged. So I thought cool, and almost immediately the name CombatJoe came to mind, as I was so pathetic then I was just another dead body to the others there, hence the average Joe, and I thought the combat was fitting.

I use Mame most of the time for q2dm now tho, cause its 4 letters (for fed) and intimidating :].

My name is...

MY nick has been excession since I had to rename myself last year (shant go into the reasons here). It comes from the novel of the same name by Iain M Banks, quite a few Culture related nicknames out there - and indeed I share my nick with [DICE]Excession....after some "oi - get yor hands off my nick" during the first few meetings we have become firm friends - fans will always understand :)

I shorten it to xs (as do most ppl these days) cos someone in an irc room once said "if a nick CAN be shortened it SHOULD be shortened" and I found that amusing :)

weeeeeeeel, the gist of it is that I stole it off someone else from a drama production in secondary school - its since been midified to "Shovel" from "BarryShovel" - cause Barry got annoying when people started calling me by it..
(see PCGW spring 1998 for pic of l33t nottingham forest skin btw...)

nowadays however I just give the simple reason of:

I am called Shovel cause I play like a spade. :D

Um, i used to be in a clan TCo (anyone remember them?) and i used the nick Satanic.
Then i started LoH *now sadly semi-defunct) and wanted a new name.
I thought of some gods and Horus sounded pretty cool.
When i used it on irc i found some fag had beaten me to it by about 4 years (lo rich :>) so i added the ^ to it to distinguise us.
Nowadays i cant be arsed with the ^ and just use Horus cos after all, posession is 9/10 th's of the law :)
