I just wanted to know how all of you came up with your nicknames?? I got mine from this racing game and the like best AI driver was called Nemesis(No! I didn't get it off Resident evil or the rollercoaster ride!)

Mine pre-dates Quake. I was filling out the form to obtain a Demon account when they first started up. I needed to choose a domain name. On the desk was a photo of a Gibson Les Paul 59 Reissue guitar. Since its got a 'flame maple top' thats where it came from.

I used to work in an internet cafe, and we used to have LAN games of Net Quake - and I was on of the better players there - I used to play under the name 'Thanatos' (from the 'Incarnations of Imortality' books by 'Piers Anthony' it got to the point where other people would not play if I was playing, so I decided I would use the name 'stranger' to play and connect with out them knowing who I was (I know - an early example of aliasing!) any how it stuck, then I moved on playing qw on the net, but some one started using the name stranger and being quite lame with it, so I chnaged to The Stranger (name of 'Clint Eastwood' character in 'High Plains Drifter') and it has been that since!

Its actually the name of the lead singer of a scandinavian black metal band called Bathory. Anyway, back in the good old Quake days, remember how a name with a "Q" in it would show up with the Quake symbol. I thought it was pretty cool at the time and seeing as how I was mad into Bathory back then it seemed like an obvious one.

I do know I was around long before Q2 came out so you cant say I nicked my name from the Q2 skin "Athena".

Nickname from about 12 years ago. Given to me by Ted when he gave me a birthday card with a picture of a Teddy bear on the front with a pair of Y-Fronts on it head.
The bear was saying "Anyone seen my underpants?"

He seemed to think that the bear was a good example of my own lucid awareness - o lack thereof..... he's clearly deranged. Sadly the name stuck and is now used by my entire family :|
