if the final encounter is that giant flame thing we failed. we couldnt quite work out how exactly you need to kill the magical earthmender and was hard to control random mages from casting spells on the guardian and stalker earthmender (spells heal them) in between all that the big 'flying fire thingy' wiped out a few ppl at a time with its AOE. with more people i think we would have had a better chance. a little research and if a few more people make it to the end we could do it i think. (we only had like 4fgs by the time we got there)

For a first serious raid on the final encounter, it went quite well.
We got the fire elemental to about 95%.
Some more practice and we'll get it killed.
The earth menders seem to me like they should be doable, with or without the fire elemental present.
I had a small bonus on the Shadowy Earthmender with blunt arrows, so maybe a couple of rangers can take him out early in the encounter.
A couple more FG's and we'll crack this nut.

When we went with tyka we made progress on the grey big things at the end by going behind them and whacking em with staffs and things corresponding to what class they were

We didnt know about the void magic working on the fire element thing

I was kinda thinking however

What if the voids put their gtaoe on the bridge (away from other mobs) and cast it whenever the flame comes near? You could get a tank to walk down onto the F5 target area to lure the flame then get bout 5-10 eld qcing the spell each time it came round the QC would be ready again

From my point of view this is how the final battle went:-

After entering the area we where all stuck on a small bridge platform by a waterfall . Much rezzing was needed.

Following this most of us stayed on the brige and attemted to hit the glowy ball of fire which moved round the arena on a farily predictable track.

A big problem with this was that one of the large elementals (earth) was a bit too close to the brige and people where carelessley GTAOEing / nuking the earth elemental. This caused chain roots / mezzes etc and for the first 15 mins of battle I was lucky if I got a spell of without it being interupted. Later on in the battle (when things where getting desperate) the earth elemental got pulled back away from the waterfall a bit, this helped a lot, but by then our people where split between two points and we started taking losses from the other elementals.

I tried all my spells, and nothing worked exept GTAOE, GTAOE did over 100 dmg per hit, think my record was around 140, mr ball of fire was definatly weak to cold. Carefull timing was necessary to get a GTAOE off just as the ball passed. But.. we didnt have enough void mages imo and the ball healed all its health naturally by the time it next came near.

In future I would work on pulling earth elemental or others well away from the bridge so that it provides the safe haven it did later in the battle.

Basically we didnt have enough void mages and support to do the job, but it was fun trying. Thanks again Kama.

To keep the elemental in permanent combat mode and reduce it's healing, set 1 or 2 rangers on each of the 4 safe spots and continue shooting it.
Other bow users might work as well if they can reach it during their quarter of the Fire Elemental's tour of the island.

im not familar with pets but can they go into combat with individual targets only? and can they attack things not on the same level as them>? (ie flying things)

If so could u not get a few chanters with a healer each and get them to follow the fire ball around till the voids get it?

As for numbers: when we entered the final chamber we were 72 players. After the initial round of auto-releases this number was down to 47.
2 from our group autoreleased, and took the time to come back to galla and even made it all the way into the final room again, so for the next try it might be an idea to call in some more groups after killing Aroon ( perhaps people who don't want to be part of a Zerg-raid in the first place, but would like to help on finishing the final encounter  )
