In a nutcase:

Couldn't find a picture of qbar2, but it had the full Hamstring chain, Garrote/AH and side/back positionals. Most fights you could get away with the buttons 7-9, switch to qb2 if you remember. Initiate fights with PA-chain or BS2 in some cases, but that's not while fighting, now is it...

Well, this one's almost self-explanatory. Initiate fight with 7-8 or 3-4, spam 5-6 till 5 connects and do 7-8 once, then proceed with spamming 5-6 again.

Ztyx qbar, I suppose you start with 4/5 and then spam 2/1 and hit 3 when 2 connects. Q3 button propably has Backstab1 or 2 and Snowsquall/Icy Brilliance.

Result:
In-fight, you get away with 3 buttons. Hell, with some nice luck 1 is all you need if you got Hamstring.

garrote, achillies, havoc, tyrs, comeback, frosty gaze, hamstring, leaper, rib seperation, PA, CD, stunning stab, bs2, thigh cut.

add to that stealth, a multitude of poisons and RA's and weaponswitching and you're looking at 2-3 QB's - not 2-3 buttons.

( and I know nobody will have -all- those styles, they depend on specs - for my spec remove havoc/tyrs and comeback/frosty )

multitude of poisons?

debuff+snare pretty much covers em all tbh. maybe exchange snare with dot.

I have played stealthers(a bit) and support chars(a bit) and no fucking way noone is gonna convince me that playing a stealther requires more skill then a support char.

lets do the easiest stealther (mercfil) vs the easiest support (reg/enh cleric i guess)

mercfil needs to use debuff and snare after each fight, and dragonfang and dual shadows is arite for styles (they can use more, but seriously, do they have to? ) and they have to use purge when 9sec stunned (ie, never. so purge vs diamondback or fg if it gets in)

cleric needs to know when to use bof, spread heal, when to single heal and get the fuck out of dodge, cure disease, to decide if he should run when ppl inc to attack, or stay with guarder. If its worth to insta, purge, moc, rp, mcl2 etc etc.

not including potions, but if I did its more stress for the cleric then for the inf.

my 2cp atleast

Nice that you didn't include the entire quote in your sig mate - twist posts the way you like it eh?

In every fight that have lasted a while I've been in I would atleast have to use 4 buttons mid-fight - that being garrote/achilles and hamstring/leaper - that's minimum, and would add Rib Separation to that as well.

Clearly this 'discussion' is the result of a misinterpretion of what you meant with "How many buttons does a stealther need when fighting?".

With 'when fighting' I included openers - you didn't. Still I like to use the entire chains if the growth rate is good enough, so would indeed use 4-5 buttons mid-fight. End of story.

( Btw: I think it's 'In a nutshell' you're looking for :D )

And no Arnor - I would never consider a support char easier to play than a stealther, but if you're only using 2-3 poisons - that's your choice, isn't it?

I prefer to use poisons depending on what I'm killing and other circumstances that count into the equation. ( will include the magical poisons at RR5 )

I found the comment "He said most stealthers tend to be very skilled players." rather amusing.
Key words being "most" and "very". Made me laugh at least. :p

We all know most of them are buffed these days. Assassins in particular is a very powerfull class when buffed.
Must be a reason why there are so many of them.
Doesn't require more skill for a stealther to get rp's than for any other class.

Anyway, maybe the guy who wrote it didn't even remember exactely what was said.
I didn't mean stealthers where all skilless by doing a :ROFLMAO: after the quote. Just found it fun and thought others might as well ;)

Have a nice day

I didn't twist it, just left the last line off which doesn't exactly add anything to it. Atleast I don't see it adding anything beyond a glimpse how your SB is specced.

Anyway, misinterpretation - yes - but you can get away with just 3 buttons (see qbars) after openers etc.

Seeing as you play a support class and another melee, you have to agree in "regular" FGvFG you need to pay attention to quite a bit more things than 1v1's or 2v2s, no?
