Can anyone tell me what nForce drivers i need please? There seems to be lots of versions and im not entirley sure

If i go through that wizard there is multiple options for nForce

Basically my speaker icon in my stsem tray has gone and im not getting any sounds excpet through playing tunes or videos

Ive enabled the system try icon so its not that. i just wanted to reinstall my soundcard to see if i could fix it

My speaker icon did that a while ago - I installed the drivers for a new soundcard (Audigy 4 Pro) and they replaced it with Creative's own volume applet, which then disappeared when I rebooted.

There was loads of other stuff going wrong as well so I reinstalled Windows (it was an 18 month old install and it was really feeling sorry for itself) so yeah... that's how I fixed it. Not all that helpful I'm afraid.

Ok... I've just tried the speaker icon and it's there, but pops up an error message ("Unable to change the sound device to your selected device") when I click it.

FS, I've gone from "thinking I'm being helpful" to "having to fix my own newly-discovered problems" in about 10 seconds flat.
