NF will it ruin or bring life to the game?

i theory this seem ok .. but my experince is that when you face a good mixed group you're banelord tanks just get grappeled and they are out of the game way to long...

change your hib group to BM's + change the champ and a blademaster to casters and grabble the shit out of the alb group while your 1 or 2 casters kill....

and atm with so many RvR players leaving alb it is hard to make group of ml8+ players.... so most of the time it is not worth trying to make a group for fg vs fg as alb

so at least i hope NF will bring fun for albs.. but most of my guild will go beta test WoW .. if the pvp is worth anything i guess quite a few will go there

Theurg in HB
Group weve been running on pryd has been very successful as far as survivability and offense go.

cleric
cleric
friar (battlemaster)
merc (banelord)
mind sorc
spirit cabby
spirit cabby
theurg/paladin

We lack speed 5 but that doesnt matter, no end regen depending on if we have a theurg or not, but end pots easily make up for that. The most important thing though is defenatly the friar resists.

50%+ heat/cold resists along with sorc dex/qui debuff and Zone of Unmana means caster groups cant do enough damage fast enough.

Well topic says it most. Will everyone spend hours and hours to exp up thier casters, rangers and stealthers or just /quit?

I know that 99% of what you read on VN boards is pure BS but NF seems to be fubar.

Personally I will never go to WoW as I consider it to not be something I would like but allready I started looking around for options.

Flame away. :twak:

I've played it on and off, on MLF with my SB & I must say the game seems less zergy all round. Lots of exploring going on and even with some annoying choke points (porting around only to be ganked by a stealth zerg waiting for people is one of them), the game feels a little more complete.

I think it will breathe some much needed life into the RVR of Excal, but for how long.. who knows ?

In a way I look forward to NF. Tanks did get nerfed which was right in a way, but they were hit way too hard. Casters will rule the game. you can gain 50% CC reduction from DET, that´s kinda... not much.

As far as I see, in ToA casters and tanks were balanced so that you needed them both in groups, in NF the setups people try to gather into a group are much more caster orientaed.

Lag is also one reason why I am worried.... Big sieges ARE NOT fun due the fact that you can actually die without noticing it until 15+ seconds.

I personally don't think Fg Vs Fg fights will die.. They'll find a new place to roam and fight, maybe Alb frontier, maybe Mid .. We wont know before NF hit us :)

Not fun with all the gank groups tbh. If you're inferior in experience/ml's/classes/ra's, then you need 2:1 to take out the big guys, and so some guilds run 2fg and and such (fom are one of them, but we don't rvr much). Rvr guilds complain when they get zerged, but they don't mind insta mezing, pbaoe bombing zergs in 2 secs, it's nice rp's after all. Hopefully the hardcore fg vs fg people will find their own little place where other mundanes don't go. And tbh, rvr guilds would be nothing without warder zergs anyway:-P
A friend (Runolas) tried it on Igraine mid, he said it rocked with the teleporting to keeps and insta action and stuff. Looking forward to it, so I currently got a bg rm and bg thane that I intend to get 50 with after a lil bit more bg fun. Oh, and cave shaman reloaded, frostalf this time:)

Going as a fg is playing our (rvr guilds) game, and it's kinda suicidal if you are a pickupgroup. But imagine the glory of winning!

Taking a defended keep will take lots of siege engines and time. If you like pressing "Fire" every 20 seconds for 3 hours, you'll be in heaven. At the moment I'm enjoying pressing 2 at the forge more.

Well, some find it real fun pressing whichever button pbae is on every 1 second, and seem to enjoy it immensely. Every 20 seconds just reduces the risk of RSI :)

this war-map thing doesnt seem like a good idea, cant see why it's needed. is it to make radars useless? :p

it's to make it easier to find the fight ;)

that said at the moment everyone's in NF so the fight is everywhere...

It'll take time to settle down like ToA - how much fun was artifact hunting a week after ToA was released? not a lot unless you fancied camping everything for 12 hours to get even a gimp artifact ;)

i think nf looks great, i just question one feature in it. Getting the usual alb /cg on you 100% of your fights doesnt seem rly fun.

it depends - if the alb zerg are fighting the mid zerg at some keep and you go somewhere else you'll not get all of it ;) probably just a king size McWarder meal.

no more SB tree :( :m00:

:( could tell half of albion was on a ML8 raid last night - had 5 sbs jump me at the tree rather than the usual 2 :)

The kegs of beer and the party music was giving away their position though.

i DO look forward to it. But I am uneasy of

1- tank-role (top priority) I guess siegetowers and tank ladders will emerge from the whines.
2. Animists. Lol
3. Archers. Personally i feel that 2700 range for scout is a tad much.

Not THAT worried about:
8v8. I you will stay FG, you will find action when things cool off.
Realm balance for excal. Recon we will have more or less decent balance, but who knows. Think it will come down to which realm who manages to recruit most PvE'rs to zerg... Alb on top perhaps.

Have read a LOT. And I can sum it up in:

"Thank god the yanks are beta it for us..."

Best read of the week CHECK THIS:

I wonder who will make first alarm clock raid after we get NF!! :D

Maybe we could make an agreement to behave after NF but I doubt it could handle prime time rr either way... ;)

lol!!

There were some <Agreements> in the past but someone always broke it after a while. And it was always Mids or Albs. xD

Doesn't work. Don't even try to make such an agreement.
