I really don't understand the 8v8 whine tbh, i'd have thought it takes more skill to be able to kill a group and get away before the zerg bears down on you.

the entire playerbase is downloading patches - patch day is unplayable in the US from the download lag.

I doubt mythic uses the daoc game servers or even the same network segment to distribute the patches. If they do they are worse than GoA

Surely not! They have ingame CRS afterall, so you can get told its 'working as intended' with only a few hours delay. US DAoC is a eutopia where everything is perfect, nobody scams anyone else, nobody whines, everyone hugs everyone else atleast twice a day.

EU version on the other hand has only been up for 2weeks since the game first went retail, Rightnow is still processing bug reports from v1.38 and the GOA servers are made of plaster-of-paris, paper mach'e (however its spelt) and tesco's own brand (value) string.

Big fights have always been fun, only problem is the lag

8v8 isn't fun for the 90 percent of the playerbase who don't play 10 hours a day and spend 2 hours putting together a group at TK only to immediately have to release because they get flattened by the gank sqaud who claim they only want fair fights......

I dont get all the lag whine,I tried on MLF in bg and was np then tried Guien in NF zones and was in a 100+ battle and didnt get even slight lag(i lag lots more on smaller fights on excal).
NF to me seems to be daoc saviour,You have all the keeps/seiges/large scale battles for large numbers,u have BG for when u bored and cus of NF massive size fg will be able to find certain far our regions for there fg ONLY battles much easier than they can in emain atm.

It all goes through the same connection at some point, whether its within their control or at their ISP, hence patches cause lag

tbh getting a gank squad together takes about 5mins,when random grps take about an hour and are worse. if u arrange to play at certain time etc..
