So, I got an email letting me reactivate my account for 15 days free, downloaded the NF patch for my ToA client tried to connect... the loading screen goes through the usual motions and then I get:
You have not been invited to join this server type. Press ESC to exit.

Umm, what? Anyone have any idea what this is?

You get that message when you try and load an SI or Classic account with the ToA client

For example: If your second account only has SI activated on it, you will get that message if you try to log onto it with the ToA client.

Hmm, just checked the email again, seems to be a genuine 15 day free reactivation period, even shows on my subscription on their website...

Edit: that might be it frogster, ToA IS (or at least was) activated on that account but when I log in without selecting a character it prompts me to activate ToA, so I'll try digging out the cd key and keep my fingers crossed.

Thats interesting.. As far as im aware there is no means to deactivate an expansion once you have activated it. Why would you want to? The keys arent reusable.
Perhaps the GM's will be kind enough to shed some light later.
In the mean time, if you want to play, i'd DL the SI NF and just play with that until they get back to you.

The plot thickens.... the account they've kindly given me 15 free days on is an ancient second account that only contained a level 11 cleric, wonderful. So I tried to resubscribe my main account (which I'd been thinking of doing anyway before I got the email) but the subscription section blindly takes my login and password and then asks for it again. And again, and again, and again.
If I type the wrong login or pass I get told so, but the correct info doesn't get me anywhere... any tips for this?

Ive just checked, and the subcription pages are working fine. Which suggests that they have just been fixed or there is something wrong with your computer :O
Try activating from another computer, or now :O
Oh and make sure you have flash player 7 thingy too

with youre problem they will deal with it

Or maybe, because this is the 'Technical Help' forum subsection he could ask in here first? Possibly getting the advice he needs faster than he would have otherwise? Afterall, these forums aren't subject to staff at GOA being in the office?

Infact i have a better idea, lets close this section completely and link it directly to camelot-europe!

Getting back on the subject, i had a similar fault yesterday. It was the first time i had visited since i formatted my computer. After i installed Flash7 i had to reboot before it would let me load the account information screen.

told what he needs to do since that IS the solution, if it isnt registering his details via the webby (which he says above) he needs to mail them there or post on rightnow to get it resolved.
Subscriptions@goa.com deal specifically with the account problems so would be a more effecient route to go

That'd be it then, I'd already emailed them but didn't know that might be the problem.
Just wait for a reply now I guess...

right so IE is the the new standard? RFCs, I think that you will find that IE does not meet the standard that most comply to.
MS sets the rules and people follow like sheep. in the face of the agreed standards
Any website designerr worth his salt will comply to the RFC for his/her site.(if they have any sense)
It should not matter if i am using IE, Opera, Firefox, Mozilla or konqueror, they should all be able to handle it. The responsibility lies with the designer of the site. As long as they abide by the RFC then there is no problem. Once they start coding to take in quirks of IE then we have a problem. A divided internet,IE/MS web and then we have the rest. Is that what you want?

If GoA site developers find it easier to comply with just IE they are entitled to..where does it state they must comply with others? after all it's a windows game, so everyone that plays it should haev access to IE.

no big deal.

you are 100% right its not a big deal, but its annoying that you have to change to a less secure old crap browser just because most people for unknow reasons stick to that pile of crap...

Imo ofc ^^
