Next big MMORPG?

ellos :)

okis we know WoW (World Of Warcraft) is around the corner & yus it looks nice :) & i'll no doubt give it ago although im no big fan of WC games in the past :)

But there is another mmorpg tucked away & little heard of & imo this game is going to be big! the game im talking about "D&L" (Dark and Light) similar to daoc in "Some" ways but best to look for yourself www.darkandlight.com this is the one im waiting for & if any game should pull me away form daoc i guess this will be the one, have any of oyu heard of it etc.. what do you think ?

Seems everyone cant wait to leave DAOC, i for one wont play another mmorpg after this, takes to much of your life away and surely there are better things to do with your spare time. I do think daoc has got a bit more time left in it, maybe 18 months or so but in the end it will get crushed by the opposition.

Im sure that Wow will be great, but imho it looks like there will be to little PvP for my liking, but ofc all depends on how it will work :)

so ofc ill try wow out since im a big fan of the way it looks, very nice style :)

that is very debateable. if i didnt have daoc im sure id find another game to waste my time with.. when u go out into the real world u just wish u stay at home :> ( thats y 40% of my time is spent at home)

You can play mmorpgs and have a nice social life allso... Ofc Daoc can take up lots of time, but i play much in periods sometimes alot sometimes very little.. all depends on mood etc :p

I will check dragon empires out when it goes public beta.
Nice gfx and seems to have great pvp with 50 cities to fight about and alot of different classes to chose from.
And there also is duel options with full group duels and stuff.
Different roles like traders, bounty hunters, outlaws and civilians.
And the best, collision detection so tanks can protect weaker classes just by blocking the way :) and no 10 people /stick on one healer etc.

And it includes dragons, any game with dragons are good!

Well about the game Real Life .


It is old like 2000 + years.
it is bugged , there are cheats that are exploited for plenty of years.
the support is well atleast pretty bad , i can not remeber we got a patch the last 30 years.
there is No ballance in the realms what so ever.
the guild ranking sucks , my boss never done anybetter then me but has for some strange reason more Gold. even each drop is better....
there are realms with nuke power and realms who use sticks and stone's.
The leveling system is crap !! and long like about 20+ years.
the economy is bugged / corruped.

Not many want to do rvr . there is NO - rez /release !!! so hmm is not populair. also the rvr grounds atm are not attractive.
NPC's are on non speak back terms and you never get any tasks.

oke oke the graphics are still great for such an old game.

So hmmm that outside game called real life is not that attractive for me.

Thats going to put alot of people off Darkfall - or atleast turn the game into a whine fest.

add em to the checklist of mmog's that could take subscribers from daoc....

SW:G ...... no (rushed, poorly made, extremely bugged, may be a contender in a year or so if it survives)
EvE ...... no (shit in space, still has huge potential tho, but dev team are poor)
PS ....... (love it personally) but no

DAoC is full of players who quit to try another mmog then come back because it simply isnt as well made as DAoC. Given the choice of a better alternative, i think half the population would dissappear at least.

Until one is released that is superior to DAoC in every respect, DAoC will continue to run.

aye, was hoping Horizons would be the game that would replace daoc, but im in the beta now. Can't say much because of nda, but lets say that i'm not in a hurry to cancel my daoc account for it ;)
