Newb Alchemist/SC question

How do you add a tincture? Is it added like SC'ing? If so, does it count as an imbue slot or is it independent of this?

Yes, an alchemist adds a tincture just like a spellcrafter adds gems.

It is independant of imbue slots. (though do the spellcrafting first, just in case the unlikely happens - if you're doing the spellcrafting right - and it blows up - only lose the item not the item and tincture that way)
