After almost 2 years on the US servers and 4 lvl 50 chars (friar, pally, ns and bard) i need a change, and since i live Denmark a middie on excal seemed like a good idea.
Now my main problem is what kind of char should i make?
I have made a shortlist of possible chars, and could use a bit of advise about what char would be the better, and most needed, in excal rvr.

1) Runemaster (suppression or runecarving)
2) Spiritmaster (darkness)
3) shaman (cave/aug)
4) Healer (pacc/mend)
5) skald
6) warrior

Typically ppl only run tank heavy grps, so anyone of the viking/seer choices will be fine. Bear in mind though that there is a tendency that warriors get left out cause of the whole savage affair.

A few ppl run pbae or caster rvr grps, but the lack of determination really makes it hard.

I think what is needed most of the above must be the shaman. If you know how to effectively use root, disease etc in rvr and know how to keep yourself alive with the pbae disease shout I think that will be your best bet.

[edit]
Dunno what US server you played, but afaik excal is the most rvr active server of them all. So prepare to get zerged :> (and maybe even zerg back)

hehe Figured it could be hard to get groups as a non savage, but i think a Warrior has as much to offer a group as a savage (shield stun, guard and ok dmg with 2hander)

As you can see in my first post i have played a bard on the us servers and am therefor used to kiting tanks while trying to cc/heal. The main use of the shammy would be the cave spec tools (disease, root and dot) along with a bit of healing and ok buffs.

how hard are healers to find on excal? If i were to make one he would prolly have 48 pac, and would depend on a 2nd healer to keep people alive? Same thing with a Shaman, i would prolly keep mend spec low to get better buffs and fewer resists on dot/root

I must add, I play a darkcarver myself, and he is the most fun char I ever played.

DO not make full supp rms they have no place in rvr atm sence they are for 1 caster in cloth = dead meat 2 useless vs hibs 3 pbt isn't worth shit anymore 4 snare nook ok best thing they have but you have to be very VERY focused on rvr at all times and if a tank get to you are basicly dead.

Hmm, a well played Supp Rm is really really nice to have for a Group, mabey not in savage only groups, but hey no room for any casters there anyway :p

and they are VERY nice in PvE allso

I don't know what they've been feeding you, but gameplay on US > gameplay EU. You'll soon understand...
