we went out last night after 10pm with a PuG group of people who are gradually working towards running a couple of guild groups. There were some interesting encounters. First off we had zero expectations of doing anything major so that kind of got us off on the right track.
We ran into a a mid group north of Berks spire close to the viaduct thingy and we actually managed to take them down after quite a nice fight. I can't be sure because I am not used to running like this but we had a few more Mids adds and managed to hold them off. Now given we have some complete newbs to this style of play (I am one of them) we serioualy enjoyed this because we of course did not expect to win. The adds were fine because it is anarea where we expect to be added on.
After the shock of winning we ran up north towards Beno spire but ran into I think a PE group. We had no power and ra's down and so I think I just did /sit.
Next run we were out and ran over the small hill on the west side of the ridge beside the Villa. Same Alb group (though I am not sure who) they were very sharp - took both druids down immediately and the rest of the group were down within 40-50 secs. I think we only lasted that long because we had hit them just after they had finished a fight. So that was ok.
The next run I remember was running and fighting at the Villa entrance. I got stuck in the wall so the group was a druid down. They had chased a fg of Albs inside when a second full group appeared behind and finished off most of our group.
So things are fine we are still in good form and enjoying it even if we are having fairly mixed results. We come back buffed and run around a bit - come to the ridge east of the Villa this time and I think we added on 'Village People' and others fighting Albs - Apologies if it upset anyone - but it is an area were you will get added on.
Then went rested for a bit and hit the tower of doom Beno spire. Somehow got tied there on the south face of the ridge to the tower and then Saitoh and co come in behind to finish us off (I counted 13 running past). This of course not a problem
because condition 1 of adding - zergy area expect adding. We also had zero expectations for the evening and were still having a good laugh that we had managed to kill anyone. We were still enjoying it.
Ok some people log and we are now struggling at 11.30 to get people for the group we eventually get back out. Are South of Berks Guradtower get beautifully mezzed by Lord and Lady and co. Drop like bitches. As we are being killed I pan the camera around and look south to the top of the ridge and a full group is standing just behind the ridge watching. The Alb high rr group moves off and the others seem to follow them hugging the ridge.....
We had a good night but I was left puzzled. Was this Albs using 'tactics'?
