"The Instant Action server, is another alternate rules server aimed for the casual player and those that would like to Jump straight in to RvR. Instant action allow a player to create a character to 50 by using the /level command at your trainer, after specialising you will receive the epic armour for your class plus a choice of weapons.

The only areas available will be New frontiers, with a staging area that contains the appropriate class trainers, vendors and guild merchants. A free full respec will be awarded to those players that attain a new realm rank and stick with there character.

As an additional award, specific realm rank items will be awarded after rank 5, these include unique cloaks, and special effect weapons.

Although no ToA/SI or classic areas will be available, the classes with these expansions will be."

Mythic need to sort out the existing expansions before pissing about with new server types or another expansion - how about they redo the mob locations on classic zones? change aggro, camps, level ranges etc? classic zones are more or less deserted now. How about some updates to the supposed "epic" zones that are empty 99% of the time now?

As far as this new server type goes I actually see it as an entirely different game yet one that'll be taking away from the development of DAOC. I also think people will be bored shitless of it within a few weeks and hope to christ GOA aren't stupid enough to replace any existing servers (even camlann) with one.

I like rvr now and then but all the time? I'd rather go play Planetside or CS to be honest.

All this looks, to me, a lot like Mythic's reply to all the free shards that offer instant level 50 RvR etc. Yeah, you'll need to pay on the new server, but you'll have the support of Mythic.

Guess we'll have to wait and see exactly what they do with them. Still I'd prefer them to look at older issues than pull something else "new" our thier arses. Seems to me that they're basically offering 1/3rd of the game for the same price but then again I don't mind the pve/social side of the game. I don't play purely for rvr (would find it too boring).

However I guess that's what the no-toa server is - almost instant action don't need to go do your MLs before your pled level 50 can go a-ganking.

True, i wouldn't mind an instant action server, for when i need a bit of variety with playing differant classes. I know people will say that you wont know how to play the class properly unless you have leveled it, instant action though is all about fun.

Kami didnt whine at all, all he said was valid, if anything you whined claiming "truckloads of people want it", which isnt exactly true, as "truckloads" wanted a PvP server and look what happened there in the US and over here. After many people (like me) have spent the best part of 3 years tooning, its highly unlikely it will be as popular as you think, and would devalue a lot of peoples hard work.

All this stuff is well and good, I dont care for it personally, I would prefer some decent advertising and get the server population levels up to 1000+ all the time tbh.

Get rid of /20 then the old classic, si and new area will probably get used by normal XP'ers.

The game needs more people, not diffrent server types.

But I'll try to rephrase ... It wasn't my intention to call anyone a whiner. My point is that no matter what they come up with there will be people that will be opposed to it.

This day-dream-server would be quite exceptional. Too exceptional to ever come true.

But speaking in general about new servertypes and such, I agree w/people saying to Mythic "Plz, no more". The more servers we have to choose from, more players will be distributed between the servers and soon all servers will suffer, more or less, of population fall. The game will die more quickly.

Lots of things could be done in DAoC's original+SI zones to make the whole game better and more attractive to both old and new players. How about new quests giving possibilities to get good, USABLE items and more money (IMHO 1g after big quests sucks)? How about if mobs would takeover some yet known friendly areas (we know about many wars between differents races but they don't seem to affect anywhere...) or something...

IMHO the idea about new expansion giving us new übah-weapons and yet another set of "master levels" makes me feel sick... I don't want more frickin' PvE just to get myself the shining blade that I must have to do well in PvP. I'm soooo sick of it.

We want more content to the game. What we don't want is more and more and more continents, levels, levelable artifacts nor that kind of stuff...

I think I pointed it out in my prev. message... If DAoC needs to get more players, increasing amount of territory to explore and increasing levels, master levels and item levels isn't the way... But I might have been abit unclear stating my opinions, therefore here it comes again, with (hopefully) better examples

IMO the older areas should be brought back up for use. Something to mindplay with:

* Quests giving good rewards (money, drops good enough to use (refer. bonus/quas), etc)
* mobs taking over areas that have been long left alone and old mobs (the ones that have not been killed in long time) in these particular camps would grow bigger in size + strength + challenge...
* how about if some sort of disaster would happen somewhere, ie. ground would be teared apart somewhere in realm and it would cause something temporare effects
* etc etc etc...

I think that some of these examples are VERY hardcore to come true. But more dynamic world, where everything wouldn't be so granted, would be nice IMO.

Figure out this: You know there's a hunting spot somewhere for your level 20 character. Arriving there you find out the number of mobs has increased (they have conquered areas right next to them and made new nests(camps there...). There are few bigger guys (camp leaders == older mobs that have been "promoted" because they have survived longer and are "the strongest"), that you can't prolly kill alone, but with your friend you could take 'em out. These higher level mobs could then hold some money and perhaps drops better than 89qua with shitty bonuses...

Or another way around: you go the area u know good place to hunt and find out other race has wiped out the camp u knew and lots of marks of war are there all around, as well as the victorious other race.

This could also be easily applicated to higher level things.

These for for PvE improvements only, but it'd bring more content to the game.

Another wild thing in my mind is what if the artifact encounters would be instanced and turned into more quest like? What if they could be taken down solo (would take incredible large amount time to do things necessary to do it, but it would be possible) when instanced? It'd bring more balance to the RvR action, because "teh übah-items" would be there more easily achieveable.

This is what I meant. Like I said in my previous message, I don't need no freaking shiny blade to level up again nor do I need continents to explore... Making the old areas exciting enough to be re-explored... I think that'd do the trick to get good old DAoC back. At least abit. Mostly
