An Honourable Woman currently screening on BBC2 has been good for the first 2 eps, I think ... will be watching the rest for sure.

Utopia S2 has promise also - loved the first series :)

Just starting watching "Extant".
Looks quite promising!

Really? I didn't rate the first episode at all. It seemed to be trying to copy the ideas from as many sci-fi films as possible while having none of it's own. Obvious "influences" were AI, Minority Report, Moon, Gravity, Solaris, Species (1 + 2), and despite all that it somehow still turned out to be boring. Hell, it even had the Japanese actor from Helix playing the exact same "evil corporate scientist" role. He could have walk from one show to the other without even having to change character.

Oh poo, seems like i missed Extant.

I did however see the pilot for The strain. That seems interesting so far, definitely something i'd give 3-4 episodes.

Are you kidding? It looked awful! With large chunks blatantly ripped straight from AI (from what I remember of AI), among others. What accent is the father/Humanix guy going for anyway? I thought he started off with an American accent and then he switched during that presentation for a giggle or something.

Watching it now, shows promise. Though with it being FX (Fox) it will just get binned in favour of some shit celebrity show.

I'm still waiting for a new spaceship series. Been a damn while since the last proper one(not counting SG:U as one :p).

Just watched the first episode of Tyrant, makes me laugh the way Americans portray the Middle East. Story wise seems to be partly based on the Assad family even has the elder son crashing a Ferrari. Not sure I can get into it as a drama but may watch the next episode to make sure. No likable characters at all in it.

Does The 100 count? Half of it's in space. :)

Still a "let's stay on earf" series, like falling skies etc. All the alien/spacey at all shows seem to be of the they come here, we stay kind.

I'm talking good old fashioned babylon 5, star trek, lasers pewpew, new planets and hot alien babes kind :p

I thought they should just go ahead and rename 100 to 100 whiny American teenagers.

True Blood, The Strain, Dominion and The Last Ship have all been very watchable. Loving The Strain so far but only Ep3 so they still have plenty of time to fuck it up. Last Ship and Dominion seem to be heading down that road. Why is it the yanks can't make an 8-10 hour story be exactly that, rather than fill it out with pointless side plots.

Off Topic - Watched Blue Is The Warmest Colour last night, French film that has won quite a few awards. Good story and very well acted, plus lezzer porn! ;) Honestly, a very good coming of age/exploring sexuality story. Best frog flick I've seen since the Jean de Florette series.

We watched the first three episodes of Extant last night. Not too sure at the moment, it's got potential if you can see past the obvious comparisons to other Sci Fi.

Really enjoying that Crossrail thingy on the Beeb though.

Watched the first episode of Outlander last night, looks quite good. Although, definitely aimed at the ladies. Showing the English as the oppressors once again, timing seems good for Mr Fishy of the SNP.
