Im due for an upgrade on my current phone which is a HTC Desire. I've had it for around 18 months and for the most part I've been very happy with it. Ideally I would like something along the same lines as what I already have in terms of gadgets and useability so whats hot at the minute boys and girls?

Oh Im with T-Mobile if that makes any difference what so ever.

The specs sound great on that but 4.56 is a bigger phone that i want to carry day to day.

If the scree sounds to big the Galaxy S2 is the current top dog Android phone but that seems to change a few times a year now.

I take it when you change your Android phone you can also transfer everything saved on your googlemail address? So contacts ect?

Yes, and it you have told Google to backup your apps and settings then when you log onto your new phone it will ask it will restore your apps ect.

That's the reason I love android. No fucking about losing contacts or apps. Just login to your google account and it's all there waiting. Bloody love it.

Probably more a case of specs not meeting the standards reqd for recent apps. That was one of the reasons I upgraded from my old HTC Hero to the SGS2. Plus that and the screen on the SGS2 was way bigger and better.

I like to get an upgrade as soon as Im able, there are a few annoying bugs with my old Desire and it's getting a bit old and battered.

Recieved my new Galaxy SII today on O2 contract, might phone them up though because i'm not too kean on the deal i've got, plus i'm somewhat shitting it about hearing that data gets eaten up quite fast on these Smartphones.

Paying £18 or so for 200 minutes and unlimited text with a 100mb limit, plus i had to pay £100 for the phone itself. But after checking Phones4u (Who i would never go with anyway...) i can go to Vodafone for £20pm,with a £50 handset cost with more minutes and internet.

OH well that was short and sweet, phoned the disconnections department and said i got an upgrade through, but wanted to see if i could better the deal similar to Vodafone.

Didn't even listen, just banged me through to the returns department to return the phone, then when i got through to them they said they wouldn't offer a new deal until they got the phone back...

The fuck.

My data usage went right up through the roof to begin with when I got my SGS2, but you learn which apps eat data and uninstall them and you should be fine.

AP News is a major data hog, even when the widget's not active or installed.

Moving to the iPhone 4 with a GG PAYG sim has been the best mobile decision I've ever made.

Just gone a bit uneasy on this phone, confused. Been on WiFi all day testing out the phone, went onto IM to check that out, noticed that it signed me out of my actual PC due to differing versions.

Keep getting signed out on PC, so i disabled the WiFi, then i relised it did it again. Almost immediately it clicked it must have then gone over to 3G to do whatever it is doing. How the shite do i turn it off, it says i'm not even signed in on the phone yet its still trying to do something...

Hm... are you sure you can return it after having used it?

I'd have left it sealed and just cancelled if you can get a better deal elsewhere.

Meh can't edit, 5min timer ftw.

And yeah, you have a 14 day cooling off period so if you don't get along with the phone you can send it back, and the contract reverts back to whatever the original deal was previously.

The phones that are opened i believe have to be reformated etc, but due to the packaging being damaged they can't be classed as brand new - So they get sold on as refurb's if my memory serves me correctly.

Which is why it's a completely stupid policy these companies have if they won't even deal with you even though you want to stay with them.

But about that 3g thing, i think i have sorted it by the looks, it was the damn Social Hub which kept me connected to everything so i had to go deep into the settings to clear the data, still fairly shitting it now though

Just install 3G Watchdog and set it to cut off your mobile data when you breach the contract limit.

Oh and go into settings>accounts & sync and remove anything you don't want.
