Yes I know it happened yonks ago, and this video is old, but I hadnt seen it before, I'd seen alot coming from new orleans but the police openly looting ? That just shocked me a little to see it.

Dont know why but seeing police officers doing it in uniform like that was just something that I really didnt expect. I dont remember seeing this video posted on FH, nor did I see it in the news.

I just never realised that sort of thing went on - I mean the police ffs? in uniform?

Have you seen the state of New Orleans now? nearly a year on. Nobody has done anything about it, its just been left to rot. America doesn't seem to give a shit about it, so i don't see how you can expect those cops to give a shit about taking a few t-shirts and food to make life a little more bearable in that hell hole.

Well ofcourse they are dumb for looting with their uniforms on, but then again, I'd rather see them loot then shoot someone because they are triggerhappy or beat up a defensless guy.

Yea, seen quite a bit of that, but I still just didnt expect the police to be taking part, atleast not while they were in uniform. That just totally threw me.

not really. i'm not disputing that this is an extremely shitty thing they did, but personally i don't find it surprising in the least. i'm sure there are good policemen in the world, but i'm yet to encounter one.

Ah - the difference between me and you, and I suspect a few others in this post.

I've been brought up to respect the police.

Before you jump on that statement, I do know that there are alot of dodgy or downright nasty coppers out there. But almost all of the police I've known or even just met for a brief period of time, I've had a great amount of respect for.

They all atleast seemed like they wanted to do the right thing. Admittedly the only police I've ever met have been more or less in the thick of it, so they may just be doing thier job during the more dangerous moments and reverting to thier normal attitudes afterwards, but at the time they've all been very levelheaded and have stopped a couple of nasty situations.

Seeing a police officer doing something like that just goes against what I've been brought up to expect, it shocked me to see it, even if it was in america, its just not something I ever expected to see.
