I was a huge fan of the original series and loved the whole one man against the world. This one he has hundreds of people working behind the scenes helping him. The car being able to morph into other cars is a piss take too
Episode 1 feels like you start in the middle of the series, if you hadnt seen the pilot then you will have no idea whats going on. Even with watching the pilot you still dont really know whats happening

Knights love interest makes it watchable

Knightrider had its original run. Leave it there. Unless you're 12 years old, no one's gonna want to watch a show with a talking car and a few $20 stunts.
