From what the cleric told me he made it quite clear that organising Ful group duels with the enemy via IRC was a pritty standard RvR event thing for SOTL to do.

i'm didn't say that very one who uses mIRC does it, i said its for people people how wish to do it, they could do it other ways such as email, post on FH etc but that would be a bit slow. But you seem to be say is that never in the history of DAOC has anyone playing the game used mIRC or another internet chat program used it to tell an enemy play the location of players from there own realm.

Come on, an RvR guild group that spends a lot of time and money on buff bots is out in emain killing when suddenly a pick-up group keeps added at all your fights. What better way to stop them than have the enemy do it for you.

nope i'm not saying that i justed used it as an example as how it might come about, why are you so adamint that people have never used outside chat programs such as mIRC to cheat. People in RvR guilds have been known to cheat or are you saying that never in the histroy of DAOC has a member of a RvR guild (from any server around the world) has ever cheated and its only causual players and guildless people that cheat?

are you saying that not everyone that cheats uses mIRC or not ever one that uses mIRC cheats? i use IRC on my Mac and the cloest thing i do to cheating at Online gaves is run Quake1 darkmatches in RAVE not that any of you will have a clue what that means.

if you are unable to admit that if someone delibratly or unintentionally leaks your current location to a member of the enemy realm via mIRC (or another chat program).

in RvR your not supose to be able to communicate with members of the other realms, mIRC goes against this. Thats my problem with it. When DAOC was first released you needed 3rd party software to play in windows mode, the only resion mythic change this is because they wanted to make it easyer for people to run buff bots.

DAOC has a perfect ingame chat window, Why do you feel the need to talk to members of the other realms while playing?
