New idea for stealth.

Why cant the make the stealth system in daoc like the stealth system in avp2?

When the stealther is standing still he is completly transparent,
But if he moves you can see him,

You cant select the stealther so that you cant make range attacks on him, But you can see him moving. If he's moving slowly he's hard to notice and if he's running in stealth you can see him clearly.

Just a idea.....

Cause the have to nerf the stealth classes...more...

Mainly because it would be impossible to implement.

Someone with 1 graphics card would be able to see stealthers, whereas someone with a different graphics card might find it very hard to see someone.

Graphics cards dont all behave the same, and people can 'tweak' there cards to behave differently.

Stupid idea and one i think Mythic is probably trying to implement knowing them.

It totally fucks up the idea of stealth and why it's there. Means archers would have to stand still on hills all the time, assassins would have to run to a mg or wherever and...stand still.

And comparing s system in a fps and a system in a mmorpg is silly, they both have different play dynamics and environments to work in. I've not played AvP2 but i bet it's pretty dark all over like the original and therefore moving stealthers are still hard to spot. Would be too easy to see in daoc.

Stealth is fine as it is for me appart from TS and SH.

Nice idea though but like someone said one PBAOE or GTAOE and the stealther is toast.

One thing I would like to see though. And that is Necromancers. When their pet dies the remaing damage left over from the final strike should be carried over onto the necros. So there is a chance they die from the death of thier pet instead of being half way across the zone running towards a Alb owned keep.

And make it so when you attack the pet it has a chance to interupt the spellcasting of the necromancer. ( Not sure if this happens but it does not seem to in BG1 )

^ :scared:

Remove True Sight and See Hidden or decrease camo`s reusetime

Stealth needs one change only....
See hidden doesn't work if you are grouped or have friendlies within 750units. It just turns off. Orrrr even better you lose sight of the most distant archer/minst in your view for every friendly within 1000units.

Why not make us all have one leg, or one arm?
Or put us in cloth... or hold on... blind.
Yeah we can't see you, you can't see us.

Nerf more? Are you kidding me?

Constructively, part of the original idea is almost hitting a workable idea:

Either standing perfectly still should perhaps grant a 1 or 2 pt bonus to overall stealth score...

or

Movement reduces the overall stealth score by say 2 pts.

Easy to implement, but people will still want us to be armed with only frying pans or knitting needles.

what significant nerfs have there been to sb except genuine balancing, like 50% evade cap and no IP
sbs without stealth would be better than mercs lol

Oh EXCEPT that... oh well there you go then.

"Because of the great advantages Assassin classes - Nightshades, Shadowblades, and Infiltrators - now have over almost any other class in the game (poisons, stealth, devastating combat styles, good base damage, extremely high evade, etc.), "

Which when you look at it translates now to this:

Devastating PA chain + poison + good base damage + a 'good' evade = IP.

Unless you get the snare in to kite someone properly, or unless they don't have IP up, all this goes in vain.

I'm not complaining, however please don't tell me that the only melee classes that now have no instant 100% health regain are not already nerfed.

And I think you are making the mistake of thinking all SB's are SZ's.
Even before the nerf, a merc would seriously outdamage a Critblade in a toe to toe fight.

Well duh, in a toe to toe fight a critblade isn't using what he was built for.

The comment is obviously aimed at the shadowzerkers which are pretty much mercs with poison and stealth :p

less hp admittedly (and evade+leather rather than chain... better one on one, less good against multiple opponents), but with the relics giving 20% damage, and the left axe styles another 30% I'm not sure I can beat a shadowzerker one on one...

Actually... Probably I could still win if they don't have end buff... if they have endurance buff (and no others) then I'd probably lose :(

(left axe is nasty - it was almost balanced by the hideous endurance cost of the styles until castable end regen came along)

arg theres only a 50% chance to have any attack on you have completely no effect, the horroor. at least ur stealth works and ppl cant run away from an sb attack as theyre right on u, but they'd be an idiot to stand around when a scout is pinging at them, then as the scout was naughty and hit someone they cant stealth for 600 seconds and the other guy prolly got away anyway

Yes, and this is before any modifiers that our own styles, enemy styles, numbers and skills are taken into consideration.

So 50% is a capped "best case" not the norm.
