Still plenty of places to hide, inside the Gas giants, in the Oort cloud, in the brains of Republicans. Lots of empty space.

There's lots of places in the solar system that might harbour life. Enceladus might have a hidden ocean beneath its icy surface. Ganymede might also contain hidden oceans. But Europa is the most likely candidate. Interestingly, some people wonder if life is found elsewhere in the Solar System, that it might have originated from Earth and been blasted into space by a pre-historic asteroid impact (we've found Martian rocks on Earth that've done just that).

We absolutely have to plough more money into blue sky weirdo research - as long as it's performed stringently to the scientific method. Weird and wonderful life-changing discoveries have always come from places joe public would never have consciously funded.

Thinking of it in terms of "proper" science actually hinders human discovery.
