New guild causing grief??

K I may be way off here, and yes I know the rules say that ppl have to speak English, but why does it matter so much? are u that lonely u have to listen to other peoples conversation?.

Im not trying to flame, I just dont understand why its so important how ppl speak to other individuals. I mean its only a game, if it happened in real life would u go up to them and say that because they are in England they HAVE to speak English?. Just my opinion in the matter.

Logged in Avalon City this afternoon. Joined a group with 2 Mercenaries and a Friar (who shortly left). I immediately notice the entrance area is fairly camped, and mobs are being killed rapidly. In particular, a buff-botted level 49 minstrel with the cleric patantly being run in a second window was chainkilling anything that popped.

So, without further ado, I start moving towards and drawing my bow at any mobs that pop... as soon as I release an arrow, the mob gets DD'd by the minstrel. I try again, after another mob pops - moving towards it, lining a shot up... and it gets DD'd from under my nose. This went on for about 15 minutes, after which the friar got fed up and left - leaving myself and the two Mercs.

I then attempted to pull another mob, making it as clearly obvious as possible without /pointing at it right in front of him and saying very clearly and slowly 'look, I am about to pull this'... and oh look, DD'd immediately after my arrow hits it.
So, I sit down and wait for another pop. Success! A red con to 44 pops while the minstrel is still occupied. I pull it... and it brings a purp con friend, because said minstrel triggered BAF code by being an ignorant twat.
Myself and one of the mercenaries survive - one dies. So, thinking the minstrel may have some sense of moral responsibility, we ask him for a res. Guess what? No response, not even a shrug and a "Hohehohehoooo" in a vague French sounding mutter.

And you guessed it - the minstrel was a Gnous member. Name of Freed, as I recall.

If this is stereotypical behavior of the other guild members, which judging by the rest of the content in this thread it certainly seems to be, then I know how my feelings towards that guild lie.

Mentioning an earlier point... Gnoupy, you say a group is only killing 10% of the mobs in a camp, whereas your group would be capable of killing 100%. Does that give you the inherent right to flatten everything, regardless of whether other people have been occupying the same area/mobs/camp spot for hours on end until you arrive?

Not on this fucking server it doesn't.

So other people have to adapt because you use the public channel, breaching the coc?

The thing you mention about speaking english in england just proves your and many inhabitants of even more countries sheer arrogance. When you go abroad you expect the locals to understand you and in your own country you do the total opposite , it being ignoring everyone not adapting to you. This is a problem of many of the bigger european countries,including england, france and germany.

On the french server you speak french, and if nobody cares you do whatever you want on non-public channels
same goes for german and english servers.

B) Well, judging solely by my own and other people's experience of Gnous so far on Prydwen Albion, it certainly seems it's acceptable behaviour on French servers. If it aint, then don't fucking do it here either - and make sure your guild don't too.

Um klavrynd I was merely trying to point out that ppl can speak in whichever language they like in whatever country they like. I was not saying that because some1 is in England they have to speak English, try reading the post again, k

my point is that if you come on an english server as french or german, you adapt to them (the english-server community), and not the other way around.
this is not the real world where people need to adapt to minorities.

if you want to talk some weird language in /g or /gu that's no problem, but you can't go round spamming /s , /b or /y with your foreign mumbo jumbo

Why? soz I may be a complete idiot but WHY is this so important to ppl? I really dont get why every1 cares so much, they are not the ones being talked to, it isnt hurting them, so why IS it so important?. I suppose it could be the priciple of the matter, and the CoC but that would be really pedantic, because if it was that important GOA would do something about it.

- If you wanna speak french, there's 3 servers for you , /gu and /g, why the hell do you deem it necessary to use the public channels as well? (same goes for germans, italians and koreans)

Thats the problem, thats why I tell you I actually get pissed by everyone that uses /s to spam or talk to each other that are too lazy to type /tell blablabla xxx

Problem is, if /s is spammed u cant read guildchat /tells /g /c etc etc..

AND that its spammed with some talks that you dont understand is even worser...

Hm, ok, Klav - as I don't know you I do take your word on the stance of your principles, but as a general observation (not applying to you) it seems interesting that ppl always shout "CoC" as soon as it suits their interest but are happy to ignore it otherwise - which I personally tend to find quite hypocritical.

I won't hold anyone to CoC conformity if I am not living by its letters ... if all you guys who now shout "foul" to non-English languages based on CoC always adhere to it, fine - but if you don't .... ^^

Not really needed, but I'd like to state for the record that I too know lots of nice French people (I work with two, and my best mate is nearly married to one ) but the Gnous that have posted here don't seem to be all that nice...

Edit: on second thoughts, they'll fit right in on BW

Hm, personally, I wouldn't place too much importance on ppl's opinions on BW - some ppl I have met ingame and always found to be very nice and pleasant ppl have posted some not very nice things here (in MY opinion ), but as I won't judge them on their statements here but my ingame experience with them, I will apply the same principle to Gnous members ... - not that I found them particularly "unpleasant" here, myself ....
