New Cs patch and Hl patch 8pm tonight

Okay there is a new patch coming out tonight, one only for owners of cs retail, so FFS dont get it if you dont have the retail version.

There is also a HL patch for everyone else.


Go check the news site, i'm sure SAS will update u with info.



EDIT > Fucking hell, okay it could be 7pm or 8pm GMT.

The Cs retail full is 52mb, cs retail upgrade (u only need this if your cs retial is already patched to 1.1).

There are two HL patches as well a full and upgrade, they are needed by everyone including the retail owners.

Later on today (2pm EST), there will be a 1.0.0.2 CS Retail Patch coming out as well as the new 1.1.0.7 Half-Life patch. Check back here for the update. It will also feature a new auto updater program that will be much more useful than the current HL updater utility. The full CS Retail update will be 52 megs while the update will be 19 megs. CS Mod owners will only need to upgrade their HL version today.

CS Mod 1.3 and CS Retail 1.0.0.3 will be out in a few weeks, if not longer. Remember that these are the patches that will incorporate Valve's new Voice Communication technology and multicast spectator.

Special thanks to those who took part in our CS 1.3 map test. If you played with us, please e-mail me with feedback on the map. Also, anyone who tested cs_pack.zip at the recent Recon2k, I'd appreciate if you would also email me with feedback on the maps. We'll be having more map tests this week, so if you like trying out new maps -- keep an eye here on cs.net.

At some point today at around 2pm EST (7pm BST UK time) the update patches for Half-Life and Counter-Strike will be released. To avoid confusion check the list below so you know which patches to grab. This pane will be updated once the patches themselves are released.

Updates from previous versions
Half-Life: (1.1.0.7), 15MB.
CS Retail: (1.0.0.2), 19MB.
CS Mod: You will only need to grab the Half-Life 1.1.0.7 update. Full installs
Half-Life: (1.1.0.7), ??MB.
CS Retail: (1.0.0.2), 52MB.
CS Mod: 1.1 full install exe + Half-life (1.1.0.7)

Coming later this month:
CS Mod (1.3) and CS Retail patch (1.0.0.3) which will include Valve's new Voice Communication and multicast spectator technology

NOTE: If you have CS retail you need to grab both the update patch and the Half-Life update. If you have the Mod version you only need to grab the Half-Life update.

Incase you can't be arsed to goto the actual newspages here's the information for you. I'm sure Deathace will quickly update the servers (as long as there are no probs) as he's well into cs atm :D

I will try and put out a forum announcement when they are completed, but I may be at the cinema watching Tomb Raider...

hopefully the servers wont be updated untill the cs patch is available for us non retail users,

bloody hope so, dont think i could handle a night on demon uk servers.

Jobbie m8 these are only engine patches for HL.

SAS has stated in his news post that retail users need both patches but that aint confirmed yet.

Should only need the HL patch and as long as the servers are patched as well all will be hunky dory.

So no missing cs for anyone, unless of course u update early.......

PATCHES SUK LAMEARSE WHY DONT THEY JUST RELEASE A GAME THAT WORKS FRIGGIN PROPERLY AND LEAVE IT UNTIL THE COMPLETELY NEW SEQUEL WORKS INSTEAD OF RELEASING FRIGGING PATCHES EVERY FRIGGING WEEK.

I have hale life generations pack with half life and counter strike all patched to the latest versions prior to these new patches so what patches do i actually need?

I have the hl generations pack and the cs version is the retail version in that pack ( i think ). Does this mean I only need the cs patch and not the hl patch or do I still need both?

Answer this d u use cs retail, the standalone one?

If u do u need teh retail patch.

If u use HL and the d/l cs mod then u only need one patch the hl one :)

i have the retail game but i dont even have half life on my computer so i would assume i don't need the half life patch at all.... errrrr i think

Heh okay m8, barrysworld cs ff on servers 7 and 8 usually.

Just do a search for me on the barrysworld cs servers (go get gamespy).

I will be using the names either [CS-B]Ch3tan or [NKO]Ch3tan


BTW how did your results go? Leon passed.

The answer - To get CS retail to work you ONLY need the CS retail patchs, not the halflife patches - they won't even install if you try.

sorry bout the german :/ got the retail patch earlier 2day (i use retail, duh) thought i wouldnt need hl patch, installed the retail patch, it worked, it still works, and the hl patch wont install cause it says it find 1.0.0.2 (the retail) one already done, wtf :confused:
