I'm just testing my new DVD player. It's a 'Medion MD40814 DivX Multi-region' job, that I got from Amazon.co.uk for £49.99. I ordered it late on Monday night and selected the Super Saver delivery option (free but taking 3-5 days), and it turned up today (they're delivery estimate was 31 Jul 2004 - 2 Aug 2004).
It plays all the usual stuff: DVDs, audio CDs, VCDs, SVCDs, MP3 CDs and all that, but also MPEG, AVI and DivX files burnt to data CDs, as well as MP3 DVDs (my old player doesn't). That'll save me a lot of hassle converting stuff. I'm not in any way condoning illegal movie downloads, but...... they do seem to be making it rather easy, don't they.
