I'll say it now; plot critics f*ck off now :D

It seems that this is going to be the number 1 catastrophy movie of all time, considering effects etc.

Looks awesome.

it probably will be your typical "stick your head in a bucket of shit and youve got the plot" kind of film, but usually these types of films are.
it looks snazzy and rakes in the dollars, thats all they care about. ive noticed latley that not many proper films come out anymore. will we ever see things along the lines of schindlers list, silence of the lambs etc?

Speaking of schindlers list, watched a decent movie on sky last night called
The boy in the striped pyjamas, something nice and different.

Plot was kinda made hundreds or was it thousands of years ago! Blame the Mayans!

we can only have it one way or the other i suppose. a film with twenty metric shit tonnes of CGI, or a proper intellectual look at the mayans beliefs. not sure you can have both.

Well there's always those juno style movies for people like you :p

There's plenty of those types of films you mention, but they shouldn't be put in this category.

This is just "ooh aah" entertainment.

If silence of the lambs is making sweet love to your one and only girl, this movie is a hooker in amsterdam; both are good in their respected area.

going to be a combination of both ID and TDAT, possibly with even more US flag waving placement and obvious heroics. if you're of the brain-dead popcorn munching persuasion, by all means go and see it. hell, I'll prolly go too :)

still, first I am going to see 9. with coffee, not popcorn.

Armageddon looks safe on it's throne as the best disaster movie ever tbh.
